VACANCY: RESIDENTIAL CARE WORKER
Cape Mental Health is a non-profit organisation that offers comprehensive mental health services in the Western Cape. One of its projects, Garden Cottage, is a group home facility in the Heideveld area that accommodates eight women with intellectual disability. A full-time post exists for a Residential Care Worker at Garden Cottage. The incumbent will need to be passionate about care and ensuring the wellbeing of the service users.

Main Responsibilities:
• Preparing meals for residents
• Cleaning and ensuring household duties are supervised
• Monitoring and ensuring the wellbeing of residents
• Administration and handover to Care Workers
• Reporting to the Social Work Manager
Requirements:
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans/Xhosa
• Mature female
• Be willing to work shifts and sleep in on the premises
• Competent in domestic tasks, i.e. laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc
• Experience in Group Home Management and working with people with intellectual disability would be
an advantage
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination as well as being willing to go for COVID-19 test before entering the premises.
