How does running help you mentally?

For Sandiso, it became more than exercise.
It became regulation.
It became healing.
It became a way to trust himself again.

That’s why this 350km challenge means so much more than distance.

Drop a ❤️ to stand behind Sandiso.

For years, running was the place where Sandiso found safety.

As a child growing up in the Eastern Cape and later in communities like Delft, Philippi and Khayelitsha, there were moments where life felt overwhelming and the future uncertain.

Running became the place where he could breathe again.

Now he’s taking that same road and turning it into something bigger.

On 21 March, Sandiso will attempt a 350km non-stop run through the same communities that shaped his life — raising awareness for mental health and reminding people that no one should have to struggle alone.

Because somewhere in those same streets, there’s another young person who feels the same way he once did.

And maybe seeing someone run through their community will remind them of one thing:

You are not alone.

South Africa, let’s stand behind Sandiso. 🇿🇦

“Why do you run?”

For Sandiso, running was never just about sport.

At a time it meant survival.

Through some of the hardest moments in his life, the road became the place where he found peace.

Now he’s using that same road to help others.

On 21 March, Sandiso will attempt a 350km non-stop challenge through the communities that shaped his life — raising awareness for mental health.

Because no one should have to face those battles alone.

South Africa, let’s stand behind him. 🇿🇦

350KM for Mental Health | 21–22 March

From being abandoned at a young age
to making his purpose known.

Sandiso is doing a non-stop 350 kilometres through the very communities he once struggled in — Khayelitsha, Mfuleni, Delft, Philippi, Mitchell’s Plain.

Because mental health in our townships should be a priority.

This is not about fitness.

It’s about safety.
It’s about hope.
It’s about showing young people they matter.
