Atlético Nacional FC Youth Cup Celebration‼️

📌Not everyone has the capacity to attract these two football institutions. We must commend our member for this tremendous work.

We get underway today to what promises to be epic five days of football.

In Memory of Siyabonga “Gatyeni” Mkonza
Langa Football Association🕯️🕊️

Today, Langa football is quieter.

Siyabonga “Gatyeni” Mkonza walked off the pitch for the last time in 2023, but he leaves behind a sound that won’t fade — his laughter in the dressing room, his voice cutting through training with jokes and encouragement, his presence that made even the toughest sessions feel like home.

On the field, he wore the colors of Langa Academy, Vultures FC, Langa United, and Lion City FC with pride. He played with heart, with grit, and with a love for the game that reminded all of us why we started playing in the first place. To his teammates, he wasn’t just a player. He was the one who lifted spirits before kickoff, who stayed late to pass a few extra balls, who remembered your name and your story.

Gatyeni had a gift for making people feel seen. He was talkative, yes, but it was never empty noise. It was connection. It was community. It was Langa in him.

To his family, friends, and all who knew him: we share in your loss. The loss is ours too. Football in Langa is poorer without his spirit on the sidelines.

We take comfort in knowing that a person like Gatyeni doesn’t really leave. He lives on in the stories we tell, in the way we greet each other before a match, in the younger players he inspired to lace up their boots.

Rest well, Gatyeni. We’ll carry you with us every time we step onto that field.

Weekly update!!

Block fixture is on

A fully congested schedule for the weekend as we wrap up our Premier Division first round making it 11 of 22 games. A very tightly contested league table.

Junior leagues are also starting to take shape while Second division (Ehlathini) no one has clearly demonstrated intention to be promoted.

We will be there!!
