Today Pads of Hope Foundation had the honour of attending a programme hosted by UWC Social Work students, called “My Health, My Dignity” at Woodlands Primary School in Heideveld 💕

We shared our work and vision for the future with Girls and Boys in Grade 7, while at the same time taking the golden opportunity to educate not only the GIRLS on their menstrual health, but also the BOYS on how to become allies of women in the fight against period poverty AND gender-based violence.

WE PAUSED. WE PERFECTED. AND NOW WE ARE READY!

WE PAUSED THE ROLLOUT — AND HERE’S WHY. 💙

When we launched DIGNITEENS, our vision was never simply to put sanitary pads into schools.

It was always about creating a sustainable, dignified and accessible solution for girls.

We began our rollout into the first 4 of our 20 schools — but there was one important piece missing:

our sanitary pad dispensers.

And we made the decision to pause.

Why?

Because we didn’t want to simply hand out pads and call it a solution.

We wanted girls to have access to pads when they actually need them — discreetly, conveniently and with dignity.

The dispenser is an integral part of the DIGNITEENS model. It allows us to move from simply providing a product to creating a system of ongoing access within schools.

So, rather than rushing the rollout, we took the time to get it right.

And we are SO excited to say…

THE WAIT IS OVER. 🎉

Our sample dispenser has been perfected, the final design has been approved, and our bulk order has officially been placed.

One dispenser for each of our DIGNITEENS schools.

Which means that when schools reopen for Term 4, we’re coming back — and we’re coming back ready. 💙

20 schools.
20 dispensers.
Thousands of girls.
One mission: DIGNITY.

This is bigger than sanitary pads.

This is about making sure that a girl’s period doesn’t mean missing class, feeling embarrassed, or being without the basic hygiene products she needs.

Term 4, we’re ready for you.

And we can’t wait to show you DIGNITEENS in action. ✨
