Sometimes, all it takes is one step of obedience to start something much bigger than you could ever imagine. ❤️

This story started with Esme, the founder of Feed Them, feeling a strong calling to walk into We Buy Cars and ask to speak to the manager, Francois.

She followed that calling, took that step of faith… and from that one conversation, a beautiful journey began. 🧩

What followed was an incredible outreach where Sales and Operations went head-to-head in a friendly competition to see who could pack the most soup jars for the children at Kraaifontein AME Primary School.

There was competition, laughter, a dance-off, burpees for the team that finished last 😂 and SO much excitement — but behind it all was something far more meaningful:

Meals for children who truly need them. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to We Buy Cars for bringing their team together with so much energy, generosity and heart. Seeing everyone work together for a cause that makes a real difference was truly special.

And then came the moment that made every jar worth it… handing them over to the children and seeing those beautiful smiles. 🥹❤️

A massive heartfelt THANK YOU to Francois Prinsloo and Anneke Mills for opening the door, making this possible and embracing the heart behind this outreach.

And to the entire We Buy Cars team — thank you for showing up and showing what can happen when people come together to help people. 🙏🏼

This wasn’t just a competition. It wasn’t just about packing soup.

It was about making a difference.

And the most beautiful part? This is only the beginning. 🧩

There is so much more behind how this all came together, and when we share the full story, you’ll understand why we say the puzzle pieces just started falling into place.

The one whose light shines the brightest is often the one whose heart is full of gratitude. A grateful heart shines differently.

This is what we see here—a smile, super excitement over something small, but most importantly, hearts full of gratitude and happiness.

May God teach us and lead us to always have a spirit of thankfulness. May we learn to give Him the glory for what we have, who we are and what we do, because it is all by His grace—not by our own strength or power.

We have to adopt an attitude of thankfulness—not only for the big things, but for everything.

This is what community looks like.

Every jersey, every pair of shoes, every warm layer of clothing you see these children carrying home was donated by someone who chose to care. In farming communities like this one, a warm jacket isn’t a luxury, it’s the difference between a comfortable walk to school and a freezing one.
We see moments like this every week.

Children running to greet us, families grateful for something as simple as a jacket or a decent pair of shoes. And every single time, it reminds us that consistency is what changes lives, not just a single donation, but ongoing support that tamilies can rely on.
That’s why we’re so excited to introduce Donors for Life, our new monthly giving campaign on Back a Buddy.

Because of your kindness and generosity, we were able to donate 400 soup jars to families in need at Ame skool , ClemenGold and Oakland Academy.

We realized we were just 4 jars short, so we quickly went home, prepared more, and returned to the school. What happened next is something we’ll never forget.

As we arrived, the children came running towards our car with the biggest smiles, thanking us and giving us hugs. Even though it wasn’t something they could eat immediately, they were taking it home so their families could prepare a warm meal together. Their gratitude was overwhelming for something we take for granted everyday.

Moments like these remind us exactly why Feed Them exists. It’s about so much more than a jar of soup. It’s about hope, dignity, kindness, and knowing that someone cares.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who donated, shared our mission, packed jars, volunteered, and supported us. None of this would have been possible without you.

Together, we made a difference in hundreds of lives. 💛

This Mandela Day, we had the privilege of visiting a farming community where many families live without electricity or running water. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to deliver soup jars that feed a family of four, as well as much-needed school shoes for the children.

As we drove away, the children ran behind our vehicle, hoping there might be just one more thing to receive. It was a moment that broke our hearts and reminded us why we do what we do.

To every single person who donated, packed a soup jar, sponsored a pair of shoes, volunteered, prayed, or supported Feed Them in any way—thank you. You made this possible.

Because of you, families will go to bed with a warm meal. Because of you, children will walk to school this winter with shoes on their feet. Most importantly, because of you, they were reminded that they are seen, valued, and loved.
