Ladles of Love We provide nutrition to small children in need to support their growth and preschool education ❤️

In five short years, Ladles of Love has gone from feeding 70 meals at our very first soup kitchen, to providing 300,000 meals every single week. We started with one small soup kitchen serving soup to the homeless once a week on St. Georges Mall, and we’ve grown to our serving thousands from our HQ kitchen at The Hope Exchange in Roeland Street. Then the Corona Virus pandemic hit, escalating the nu

mber of starving people in need across the city. We had an idea - how can we connect those in need with those who have the capacity to help? Our suburban sandwich drive was born: a city-wide initiative mobilising people to give back from the safety of their own homes. In a matter of weeks, the Sandwich Drive had rallied families across the Cape to make sandwiches in their homes and over 250,000 sarmies were re-routed into our new, ever-expanding NPO network of beneficiaries. We also increased our output of soup to 6 tons of food weekly which is sent to various shelters, homeless organisations and other community organisations to feed those in need. It can help them arrive at school ready for more than survival.

Through Nourish Our Children, Ladles of Love supports preschool children with daily nutrition, because the early years matter deeply.

We currently have 850 monthly donors giving around R300 per month. Our next goal is 1,000 recurring monthly donors.

A bowl full of hope. ❤️

Winter can be brutal, and no one knows this better than the vulnerable people in our communities who battle to find shelter from the fierce winds and lashing rain.

This is what fuels us to keep doing what we do.

Our Dignity Kitchen provides hot, healthy meals to displaced people who, for whatever reason, have fallen on tough times and are unable to buy or cook a meal.

Every person arriving for a meal is treated with love, dignity and respect, and welcomed as if they were the only person in the line.

What we realise when talking to our guests is that every bowl of food we serve is filled with hope and, in that moment, alleviates despair.

Ladles of Love operates on a currency of kindness. Whether you’re a donor, a volunteer or a supporter, you are making an impact.
