The Skål International Cape Town Committee invites all Cape Town members to the club’s 74th Annual General Assembly (AGA) on Tuesday, 1 December 2026, at Blaauwberg Beach Hotel.

Join fellow Skålleagues for an opportunity to reflect on the past year’s achievements, review key reports and discuss the priorities that will guide the club in the year ahead.

The morning will include a breakfast buffet in a beautiful seaside setting.

September has been an exceptional month for Skål International Cape Town, bringing together tourism professionals through networking, international friendship and industry collaboration. 🌍

From our Golf Day and Tourism ConneX to International Friendship Braai Day, where we welcomed international Skålleagues, and the Skål International World Congress, each event highlighted the value of building partnerships, supporting future tourism talent and strengthening connections across the global tourism industry.

As we celebrated Tourism Month in South Africa, we were reminded that tourism is about more than travel. It is about people, opportunities and the relationships that help our industry grow. 🤝

Petrus Van Der Walt, known as PJ, has been celebrated as Skål International Cape Town’s Skålleague of the Year 2025, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the tourism industry.

Since beginning his commitment to Cape Town tourism in 1988, PJ has combined entrepreneurial spirit with a heartfelt passion for the Mother City.

Over the years, he has created opportunities for young talent, generously shared his experience and introduced countless visitors to Cape Town’s beauty and warm hospitality.

Our raffle is always a highlight of our gatherings, adding excitement to the afternoon while supporting the work of our club. Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute prizes and support this initiative.

With Luuma by Pavel just moments from the Sea Point shoreline, our networking lunch had a distinctly Cape Town feel, with ocean-inspired prizes celebrating the city and its experiences.

Funds raised through the raffle support initiatives including the Florimond Volckaert Fund, which supports Skålleagues in need, as well as our ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Congratulations to all our lucky winners — we hope you enjoyed your prizes and took home a little piece of the Cape Town experience.

Our recent networking lunch at Luuma by Pavel was made even more special by the presence of international Skålleagues who joined us.

As part of a cherished tradition at our networking events, Past Cape Town President and Member d’Honneur Carol Bayne had the privilege of leading the Twin Toast, celebrating the bonds we share with our five twin clubs around the world.

Two of those clubs were proudly represented on the day, with Skål Melbourne President Craig Hunt and Skål Bonn President Annett Reimers joining us for the occasion.

It was a special moment to recognise the connections that extend beyond our city and across borders — built on friendship, shared experiences and a love for the tourism industry.

The Skål Toast is more than a tradition.

It represents four pillars at the heart of Skål International: Happiness, Good Health, Friendship and Long Life — a shared wish extended to Skålleagues around the world.

At yesterday’s networking lunch, Gonzalo Novelo Lujan, Past President of Skål International Mérida and Vice President of Skål International Mexico, led the Skål Toast in the Mexican tradition, bringing a wonderful sense of energy and culture to the room.

Networking is at the heart of Skål, creating opportunities for tourism professionals to connect, exchange ideas and build valuable industry relationships.

During yesterday’s networking lunch, Skål International Cape Town Vice President Aimee Lentz invited our first-time guests to introduce themselves and share a few words with the group.

It was a great opportunity to learn more about those joining us, make new connections, and welcome them into the wider Skål network.
