Introducing Fanta 🫧🥤

Little Fanta was surrendered in a saddening condition, completely covered in fleas and severely anaemic. Since coming into our care, he has started the long road to recovery, finally getting the treatment, nutrition, and rest he so desperately needed after such a rough start to life. 🌈 RIP Baby Taco 🌈

Taco left us too soon, as so many do. We noticed that he was not developing at the same rate as his brother, Nacho. Other than that, he was eating, playing, and behaving like a normal little baby. His foster mom became concerned one day when she noticed he was a little more lethargic than usual. He seemed to bounce back shortly afterwards, but the following day he suddenly collapsed in her hands.

We suspect that his little body was unable to develop properly and that his organs ultimately failed. We are so sorry that your tiny body failed you, Taco.

Rest easy, sweet boy.

Last Sunday, we had our very first kitten event, kitten yoga with Downward Dog for Dogs! 🧘☀️

We had a blast! Our kittens thoroughly enjoyed socialising in a safe, calm environment and meeting new people. DDFD raised a remarkable R8,500 for us! This comes at a much-needed time, as we have had so many veterinary visits with our kittens lately.

We are incredibly thankful to DDFD and their sponsors and partners for making the event possible: Lush, Sjoe, and Stronger Together. Many people have asked, and yes, we are planning another event in August! Stay tuned to the DDFD account for announcements. 🐾💕

Bonded Kittens! What does it really mean?

Most kittens enjoy each other’s company, and many adapt beautifully when adopted separately into loving homes. A small number, however, develop a dependent bond where separation can cause genuine stress, and in those cases, we always prioritise keeping them together.

Every kitten is assessed individually so we can make the best decision for their welfare. 🐾

This gentle, cuddly boy loves a warm lap more than anything else in the world. He enjoys playtime almost as much as he enjoys snuggling up for a cuddle.
