For many children, coming to school hungry is a daily reality.

That is why providing a nutritious meal at school is about so much more than feeding a child. It is about creating the conditions in which children can concentrate, participate and make the most of their time in the classroom.

Through PremUbuntu’s school feeding programmes, we are not only serving meals. We are working alongside schools to understand the wider impact of consistent access to nutritious food, including changes in attendance, concentration and engagement.

CSI reports are full of numbers. This is what those numbers mean on the ground.

We're only just getting started - PremUbuntu has the kitchen, equipment and systems to double our output, but we're running at just half capacity. Every Rand a new partner gives goes straight to feeding a child, immediately.

2,000,000 meals. Two years ago, this kitchen didn't exist. Today, our team in Epping starts cooking at 4am so that 12,000 children across the Cape Flats wake up knowing lunch is coming. We just hit 2 million meals served, and we're not stopping.

The kitchen has capacity for 24,000 meals a day.
We're at 50%.
The next million is waiting.
