MOTHER YOGESHWARI BIRTH CENTENARY

We are pleased to announce that we are commencing the Birth Centenary Celebration of Beloved Mother Yogeshwari in all earnest now.

There are three aspects to the celebrations: Service, Gratitude and Becoming.

There are two Service Projects which all are invited to participate in. Mother Yogeshwari together with Swami Parvathiananda had initiated the Outreach Project in the 1980’s as service of the poor is an essential part of yoga.

There will be a special satsang on her birthday date with special guest Sri Swami Gurubhaktanandaji and other dignitaries (see below). This will be the gratitude aspect.

Then there is the yoga camp with special guest teacher Sri Swami Gurubhaktanandaji in which we shall explore some of the teachings that Mother Yogeshwari lived by and taught. The greatest gift of gratitude that a student can offer to the teacher is to grow spiritually. A special feature of the yoga camp will be a deep exploration of the OM, which was Mother Yogeshwari’s personal mantra. (More details below)

MOTHER YOGESHWARI'S BIRTH CENTENARY

As we celebrate the Centenary year of Mother Yogeshwari, we are reminded that her life was one of quiet, unwavering service. Together with Swami Parvathiananda, she ensured that care for those in need was not separate from spiritual life, but an essential expression of it. This spirit of outreach is woven into the very foundation of the Ashrama. In this special year, we invite you to participate in two Centenary outreach initiatives, simple acts of seva that carry forward her legacy of compassion and care.

Gifts from the children: As part of this offering, the children attending C**T will contribute their heartfelt gifts - hand-propagated succulents planted in clay pots. These will be included in the hampers to bring a touch of beauty, care, and connection to each home. There are also plans for the children to visit these residences - a meaningful exchange that brings joy to both young and old.

“What is important is that the heart should become pure. Therefore, the spirit of discipleship is extremely important. If you have devotion to the guru and a heart-to-heart contact, then in that presence there is a verbal and a non-verbal dialogue. In that dialogue the cloud is dispersed. Therefore, another qualification for a real student of Yoga is a complete and total devotion to the guru. Then enlightenment, in the words of Vasishta, is easier than crushing a flower that lies in your hand.
