What a blessed and festive Thanksgiving Divine Service we encountered this morning.

Congregants were greeted by the beautiful decorations throughout the congregation, adding to the excitement of Thanksgiving.

The church was filled with joy as the beautiful melodies of the orchestra, choir and children’s choir enhanced the festive occasion.

Our text, Psalm 19:1, reminded us that “The heavens declare the glory of God; the firmament proclaim the work of His hands.”

Rector SH G. Dreyer conducted the service, and Pr John Rodriquez was called up.

A glorious and blessed feast awaited our congregation on this Friendship Day.

Our Rector, SH Dreyer, conducted the festive Divine Service, during which he used 1 John 5: 8 as the Scripture reading. Priest Tobias was called upon to assist with the service.

Following the Divine Service, members and their guests were treated to refreshments and a beautiful Music Jamboree, presented by our Sunday School children.

The delightful melodies, solo instrumental performances, and the grand finale featuring the adult female choir touched everyone’s hearts and made the occasion truly memorable.

Another blessed occasion was the 91st birthday celebration of sister Lilian Strydom.

Our Plumstead Congregation matrics came together for their annual study session.

Theses sessions aim to create a focused environment to learn, an opportunity to support one another and prepare for the journey ahead.

We are proud of each matric and pray that their hard work, dedication and commitment will bear great fruit.

May they remain motivated, confident and grounded throughout their final year.

Our District Rector SH Zane Pillay visited our congregation this morning. He was accompanied by the Rectors of Claremont District.

The Bible word was John 17:20–21 (excerpt), with the message: God grants us oneness, and we do everything in our power to preserve it.

Rector of Hout Bay Heights Congregation, SH Trevor Maharage, was called to serve. He is due to retire in a fortnight and we wish him well.

A sense of festivity was moving through the rows of the congregation with beautiful musical items displayed by our orchestra, adult and children’s choir.

Following the divine service, the choir and brass rendered a powerful rendition of This is the Day.
