On the 20th of July 2025, DCCT held its 3rd Sunday celebrating Father Mark's 25th year of dedicated service to the Deaf Community. This was truly a special occasion as individuals came together in unity from various areas showing their support.

DCCT would like to thank the Deaf Community for coming together and be part of this milestone, making it even more special. Moreso, DCCT also wants to thank Deafsa in supporting this initiative by providing an interpreter. This allowed DCCT to accommodate both Deaf and hearing attendees, making the celebration more inclusive for everyone.

On 19 July 2025, DCCT and DEAFSA came together to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of our Deaf Community. This special event brought together Deaf and hearing from various areas, creating a space for inclusivity and pride.

This event also allowed the Deaf Community to share their experiences and celebrate the recognition of South African Sign Language (SASL) as the 12th official language of South Africa.🙏

It was really a powerful moment of unity and for many in the community, this milestone represents not only acceptance of our language, but also a step forward towards equal rights.

DCCT want to thank DEAFSA for collaborating with us and making this event a success. This is not the end- there is more to come.

A big thank you for the MC- Jabaar Mohamed and for the guest speakers: Jean Claude Smit, Stephan Lombard, Kobus Kellerman, Faith Cronwright and Dr. Wilma Newhoud-Druchen for sharing your views and speak up for the Deaf Community. Your leadership truly made a impact.

We also want to say thank you for the interpreters who played a big role in making sure everyone was included and understood.🤟👌 Most importantly, we want to thank the Deaf Community of Cape Town, this would not have been possible without you. 🤟
