Sandile has received the wheelchair that will give him greater independence. More than 100 donors are standing beside Baby Zayden. Rae has earned his place on South Africa’s para-surfing team. David is walking 286km for families facing childhood cancer, and Cassy and her puppies have made their journey towards safety.

Reece has another chance to chase his football dream, and 27 donors have made sure finances won’t stand in the way. ⚽🇿🇦

Last year, his community made his trip to a Johannesburg tournament possible. Now, with another year of hard work behind him, they’ve shown up again.

More than R23,400 has been raised through his BackaBuddy campaign, exceeding the R20,000 goal. For this young footballer from Bonteheuwel, it’s another opportunity to play, grow and be seen by scouts.

Some people stay with us long after the moment we meet them. 🤍

For Reuben, one of those people was a fellow cancer patient he met during his second blood transfusion. His positivity struck Reuben, and the two shared a prayer.

When Reuben later learnt that the man had passed away, he was heartbroken. Their brief connection had meant so much, and it became part of his determination to keep going through his own treatment.

In this Behind the Ask conversation, Reuben remembers him with warmth and honesty. A reminder that we don’t always know how deeply we’ve touched someone’s life.

A community’s care for Sindy has become R50,600 raised through her BackaBuddy campaign, exceeding the original R35,000 goal. 🤍

Sindy is a familiar face to SAHETI families, having watched over their children at the school gates. When her four-year-old son died in a tragic accident, a group of school moms started the campaign to ease the financial pressure while she grieves.

With 95 donors contributing, their idea has grown into something deeply meaningful: fewer financial worries during an incredibly painful time.

When a fire broke out next door, chef Ayakha Godlwana didn't hesitate for a second. He ran straight into a burning building to bring his elderly neighbour, Doddy, and her dogs out to safety.
Some have been calling him "Spiderman" or a "Superhero," but Ayakha says it wasn't about that, it was just pure Ubuntu. Stepping up simply because someone needed help.

He didn't do it expecting anything in return, which is why seeing people across South Africa and the world rally behind him has meant so much. It proves what Mzansi is truly made of: when one of us steps up, the whole community steps in to walk alongside them.

13-year-old Zulfeeq is a boy full of life, love, and big dreams. A rugby player through and through, he spent every spare second on the field dreaming of one day wearing the green and gold as a Springbok. 💚🏉

In June, everything changed in a single second. Just before rugby practice, Zulfeeq suddenly collapsed on the field, suffering a severe brain injury. Today, our once-active boy is fighting every day in hospital, unable to walk, talk, or swallow on his own.

While we can't change what happened that afternoon, we can shape what the road ahead looks like. Zulfeeq's family has one deeply held wish: to bring their boy home safely.

To get him there, he needs intensive speech, physio, and occupational therapy, along with specialized equipment and home care. It’s a long road, but no family should ever have to walk a path like this alone.
