A little bit about us

We started Down with Dough because...

Having a son with Down syndrome opened our eyes to the lack of suitable facilities and infrastructure, especially in less fortunate segments of society. It has become evident that children with intellectual disabilities get lost in the education system, and then move onto adulthood where the possibilities are even more limited. If we could change this for Joshua, and others in our wider Durbanville community, it would equip them for a future where they could work and contribute to society around them in a meaningful way.
