Spur Foundation 'Leading for the Greater Good' embodies Spur Corporation's commitment to making a purposeful contribution to a better, more inclusive and sustainable world.

This is reflected in our values, one being 'United by Purpose'. The Spur Foundation currently focuses on initiatives mainly targeting children aged between 0 – 6 years of age which are aimed at improving Early Childhood Development (ECD) by investing in educational programmes upskilling Principals and Teachers at under resourced Day Care Centres across South Africa.

đź’ś Changing lives, one girl at a time. đź’ś

The Spur Corp Sidima Sisters initiative goes beyond providing monthly sanitary products. Each year, Sidima Sisters adopts an entire Grade 8 class at two schools in two provinces, committing to support these learners throughout their high school journey.

Today, the initiative supports 3,748 girls across South Africa, helping to remove a significant barrier to education and ensuring they can attend school with dignity and confidence.

The impact is already evident, with participating schools reporting encouraging improvements in attendance rates.

From Grade 8 to matric, Sidima Sisters walks the journey with every girl. In 2027, we will celebrate a major milestone as our first cohorts from the Western Cape and Gauteng graduate matric, a powerful reminder of what is possible when girls are given the support they need to stay in school.

On the final day of our 2026 Impact in Action Week, we celebrate the Spur Corp Sidima Sisters, an all-women team initiative dedicated to helping girls stay in school through access to sanitary products.

Because no girl should have to miss out on her education due to a lack of essentials.

It's more than support.
It's dignity, confidence, and opportunity. ✨

🍽️ A meal is never just a meal.

When children receive nutritious meals through the Spur Steak Ranches Full Tummy Fund and our NGO partners, The Lunchbox Fund and ForAfrika, the impact reaches far beyond hunger relief.

The funding that day care centres would normally spend on food can instead be invested on other critical needs:
đź“š Educational materials and learning resources
👩‍🏫 Salaries for teachers and caregivers
🏫 Upgrades to classrooms and learning spaces
đźš» Improved sanitation facilities and infrastructure

By helping to meet children's nutritional needs, we're also strengthening the environments where they learn, grow, and thrive.

Through Panarottis Coding Futures, we're helping bridge the digital divide by funding iSchoolAfrica coding and robotics programmes in rural schools.

Since February, we've adopted three schools:
đź“Ť Hlakaniphani Primary School (Soweto)
đź“Ť Hananani Primary School (Phungwe, Mpumalanga)
đź“Ť Manamani Primary School (Thohoyandou, Limpopo)

Together, more than 1,600 learners will participate in the programme annually, gaining the coding and robotics skills they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Because talent is everywhere, opportunity should be too.

Every time you order a Panarottis topping, R1 is donated to our Coding Futures initiative, helping to expand access to coding and robotics education and empowering more young South Africans with the skills they need for the future.

Through our Panarottis Coding Futures, learners in rural schools are gaining access to coding and robotics education – opening doors to new possibilities and brighter futures.

Because where you start shouldn’t limit where you can go.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in a digital world. Through iSchoolAfrica coding and digital literacy education, we are equipping young learners with the skills, confidence, and creativity they need to become tomorrow’s innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders.

From writing their first lines of code to developing critical thinking and teamwork skills, these young changemakers are discovering that their potential is limitless.

Together, we’re not just teaching technology—we’re opening doors to opportunity, inspiring dreams, and building brighter futures.

Learning to swim is more than just a skill – it is a life-saver

Through John Dorys Fish, Grill, Sushi. Beyond the Shore, we help teach children essential swimming and water safety skills, reducing the risk of drowning and building confidence in and around the water.

BECAUSE EVERY CHILD DESERVES TO FEEL SAFE.

Did you know? Every time you enjoy a Double Hake & Chips at John Dory’s, R1 goes towards teaching a child how to swim through the Beyond the Shore initiative.

🌊 Why it matters
Many children grow up without access to swimming lessons or water safety education, leaving them vulnerable whenever they're near pools, rivers, dams, or the ocean.

In partnership with NSRI, we're helping equip children with the confidence, skills, and knowledge they need to stay safe in and around water.

Teaching a child to swim isn't just about learning a stroke.
It's about:
âś… Building confidence
âś… Developing water awareness
âś… Preventing drowning
âś… Creating safer communities
âś… Equipping children with a skill that can protect them for life

We have taught 927 children across 3 provinces to swim and we look forward to welcoming more children to the programme in summer.

Every child deserves the best possible start.
Through the Spur Foundation, we invest in black, female entrepreneurs running under-resourced early learning centres—because when you empower a woman, you uplift an entire community.

Through our partner, Early Care Foundation, we fund their Early Childhood Development (ECD) and business management training, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to successfully run and grow their centres while delivering a quality, school-readiness programme to the children in their care.

To date, we’ve funded the training of 227 women across four provinces, with plans to expand our reach even further in 2027.

And the impact? It's big. Really big.
✨ Stronger, more sustainable businesses
✨ Jobs created for women in local communities
✨ Nutritious meals for little tummies
✨ Children better prepared for school (and life!)
✨ Parents who understand the importance of ECD
