🟣Both learners and educators are encouraged to ensure that there is a compatible selection of the Maths type based on; (1) intended career prospects post-matric (2) the learners enjoyability of the subject and (3) the correct additional subjects at Grade 10 to either of these Maths types.

🟪The correct subject combination allows learners to have clear career paths after matriculating.

🟣Some may even select entrepreneurship a specialised area which requires some degree of Maths.

In South Africa, mother-tongue education has long been a political hot potato. This began with the Soweto uprisings of 1976, when schoolchildren protested after Afrikaans was adopted as the language of instruction.

We are now at a point where we would like STEM to be educated in local languages as well.
