Welcome to Speech Therapy and Audiology (STA) Week 2026!
Each year, STA Week is celebrated nationally during the first week of June to raise awareness about the vital role Speech Therapists and Audiologists play in supporting communication, hearing, feeding, swallowing, and overall quality of life, across the lifespan.
This week, the Speech Therapy and Audiology Department at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital invites you to join us in celebrating and learning more about our professions. We have planned a variety of fun and interactive activities throughout the week to highlight the impact of communication and hearing health within paediatric healthcare.
What's happening this week?
🎯 STA QR Code Scavenger Hunt
Find the STA-themed QR codes hidden throughout different wards and scan them to enter our raffle draw.
📸 Spot an STA!
Keep an eye out for a Speech Therapist and/or Audiologist in the wards! Take a photo with one of them and submit it via the same QR code link as the Scavenger Hunt for an extra raffle entry.
🎧🗣️ STA Stimulation Day
Join us on Tuesday, 2 June, from 13:30–14:30 in S24 for four interactive stations, including two Audiology-themed and two Speech Therapy-themed activities. Experience communication and hearing challenges firsthand while learning more about the work we do.
🏥 Ward Activities
Look out for fun STA activities taking place in the wards throughout the week following ward rounds. These short, interactive activities will provide practical tips and insights into communication and hearing health.
🎁 Raffle Draw
All entries will go into our grand raffle draw on Friday, 5 June, where five lucky winners will walk away with prizes! The more activities you participate in, the greater your chances of winning.
We look forward to celebrating with you and sharing the important work of Speech Therapy and Audiology throughout the week.
