The Beginner Investigator Grants for Catalytic Research (BIG Cat) are two-year grants of USD $60,000 USD that are available to support early-career African investigators who received their highest degree of study (PhD, DO, MB ChB, MB BS, BM MCh, or equivalent) within the past ten years and who are residing and conducting cancer research in Africa. Letters of intent are due May 12.

BEGINNING INVESTIGATOR GRANT FOR CATALYTIC RESEARCH (BIG CAT) 2026

Call for Letters of Intent: Beginning Investigator Grant for Catalytic Research (BIG Cat)- Apply by May 12, 2026

Two-year, USD $60,000 grants to support research relevant to the cancer burden on the African continent are available to early-career cancer researchers in Africa who received their highest degree within the past ten years.

Please read the Program Guidelines and Competitive Letter of Intent Instructions carefully before submitting a Letter of Intent.
