AORTIC at the World Cancer Congress 2026

The President of the African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC), Prof. Cesaltina Lorenzoni, is in Hong Kong, participating in the World Cancer Congress 2026, one of the leading international platforms for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaboration in the field of cancer control.

AORTIC’s participation in this important global gathering provides an opportunity to share Africa’s experiences, achievements, challenges and priorities in oncology, contributing to the global discussion on strengthening cancer control systems and ensuring more equitable and sustainable responses.

Prof. Cesaltina Lorenzoni is part of the main panel of Plenary One, entitled “Where Are We Now? The Global State of Cancer Control”, bringing together leaders and experts from different regions of the world to discuss how commitments, policies and strategies can be translated into measurable progress in cancer control.

AORTIC’s presence at the World Cancer Congress 2026 reaffirms the organisation’s commitment to amplifying Africa’s voice in the global cancer agenda, fostering international collaboration and contributing to a more integrated, sustainable and equitable response to the cancer challenges facing the continent.
