♻️ Working Together to Keep Our Area Clean! ♻️

Dumping under the Link Road bridge was reported by one of our patrollers, and our MMID cleaning team quickly jumped into action to clear the area.

Unfortunately, we discovered that the insulation material that had been illegally dumped, could not be accepted at the dump. The material was therefore brought back to the MMID offices on our trailer while we reached out to the City’s Solid Waste Department for guidance.

The City kindly arranged for one of their grab trucks to come to our offices and collect the insulation material directly from our MMID trailer.

A big thank you to the City of Cape Town’s Solid Waste team for the assistance and for working with us to keep our area cleaner! 👏♻️
And as always, a big thank you to our cleaning team for getting stuck in! 💪🧹

🚨 POSITIVE ARREST! 🚨

Yesterday, 15 September, we were notified of a remote jamming incident at the John Montague Centre, where two individuals stole items from a vehicle.

Thankfully, the incident was caught on camera and the footage was sent to the relevant authorities.

Thanks to the footage, Metro Police spotted the vehicle involved and pulled the suspects over. Some of the stolen items were recovered and the suspects were arrested! 👏🚔

A big well done to Metro Police for the quick response and great work!

One less remote jammer on our streets! 💪

Last month, the MMID office received a call from a business in Stella Cove about an aggressive, naked man running through the area.
We located him on our cameras and directed our patrollers and Law Enforcement to his location, where he was apprehended.

A member of the public informed our teams that he had been pursuing the man after a hit-and-run near Blaauwberg Road.
The man had allegedly struck a woman, drove off, abandoned his vehicle in Dawn Road and fled on foot.
Tragically, the woman did not survive. 💔

Without the community member who followed him, the business that called us, our camera network and the quick response from our teams, he may have gotten away.

THIS is why community involvement is so important! It really can make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who stepped up and to our teams for their quick response.
Our deepest condolences to the woman’s family and loved ones. May she rest in peace. 🕊️

🌿 Our Urban Team is still at it! 💪

Our team continues to work through the Montague Gardens–Marconi Beam area, keeping our verges and municipal spaces neat and tidy.

They follow a schedule to make sure all sections of our area get the attention they need — cutting verges, removing weeds and cleaning up overgrown areas. 🌱

There is always something that needs doing, but bit by bit, our team keeps making a difference and helping to keep our area looking neat and well maintained. 👏

Thank you to our Urban Team for all the hard work! 💚

🚨 TAKING A STAND AGAINST CRIME IN OUR AREA! 🚨

A HUGE thank you to our Law Enforcement Officer and Public Safety Coordinator for the work they are doing to keep Montague Gardens safer. 👏💪

What you see here is JUST A FRACTION of the drugs and dangerous weapons confiscated in our area — from vagrants to suspicious individuals moving through our streets.

Their visibility and ongoing enforcement are making a HUGE difference. They are out there every day, taking action and getting dangerous items off our streets. 👮‍♂️🚨

We know there is still work to be done, but the impact of their efforts cannot be ignored.

Thank you for keeping the pressure on and helping make Montague Gardens safer for our businesses, workers and community! 🙌
