Online School Registrations for 2025

Today (01.08.2024) was the start of the Online School Registrations for 2025. From 09:00 to 13:13, we have assisted over 81 members of the community and there is still 8 being currently assisted and 13 waiting to be assisted. This brings the overall number of online registration to 102 for the day.

This in turn gave the library staff the opportunity to do membership drive and introduce these members of the public to the library's services, resources and programs.

The reasons for incorporating this online services was due to the fact that so many people in Delft (and in all disadvantaged communities) has no monies to travel to the organisations/institutions providing these services and not alot of monies to print pages which leads to the failing of children being registered for school and increasing the number of illiteracy in our communities.

Today we bid farewell to our Assistant Librarian Keenan Dyers who will be embarking on a new chapter.

He has been serving the City of Cape Town for 10 years and spent five of these years serving the community of Delft at Delft Library

We wish Keenan all the best,may your new chapter bring you success and many blessing's 🙌

Up close with😎 Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis!

Today, staff from Delft library visited the Mayors office after we received an invitation to the Recognition Awards - Excellent Service Delivery to the residents of City of Cape Town✊

What an amazing experience to meet the Mayor & his team and we even had the chance to have a quick coffee conversation🤝☕

Not all the staff could make the meeting as the Library remained operational and for this we give a special thanks to the rest of the team 😃

Calling all entry-level job seekers!

This Mandela Day join JOBJACK at the Bellville Library Auditorium to learn about how you can use the JOBJACK Platform to apply for entry-level jobs. During each session the JOBJACK team will be there to answer questions on JOBJACK and help guide you through the registration process and show you how to apply for jobs.
When: Thursday, 18 July 2024 (Mandela Day)
Where: Bellville Library Auditorium
We have two presentation slots available: 09:00 - 10:30 and 11:00 - 12:30
