The WiseUP Foundation would like to extend a HUGE congratulations to all the incredible players, coaches, and teams involved in the 2026 Champions’ Cup Tournament hosted by Rustenburg Girls’ High School! 👏⚽🏑🏐

Sport has the power to inspire, unite, and change lives—but for too long, opportunities haven’t always been equal.

That’s why supporting women in sport is not just important, it’s essential.

From grassroots participation to elite performance, women continue to break barriers, redefine expectations, and inspire the next generation. Yet, many still face challenges around access, visibility, and support. This is where initiatives like the WiseUp Foundation play such a vital role.

By championing inclusion, creating opportunities, and supporting female athletes and leaders, the WiseUp Foundation is helping to build a stronger, more diverse future for sport.

When we invest in women’s sport, we’re not just supporting athletes—we’re investing in confidence, leadership, community, and lasting change.

Let’s continue to support, promote, and celebrate women in sport—because the future of sport is equal.

The Rise and Development of Women’s Sports!

Over the past few decades, women’s sport has experienced an incredible transformation. What was once underfunded, underrepresented, and often overlooked has now become one of the most exciting and fastest-growing areas in global sport.

Across football, rugby, cricket, athletics, tennis and many other sports, female athletes are inspiring millions with their talent, dedication and professionalism. Major competitions are attracting record-breaking audiences, stadiums are selling out, and young girls now have role models they can aspire to emulate.

Events such as the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Women’s Six Nations, and the Women’s Ashes have demonstrated the huge appetite that exists for elite women’s sport. Increased investment, improved media coverage and stronger pathways for young athletes are helping to elevate the standard of competition and create more opportunities than ever before.

Equally important is the cultural impact. Women’s sport is helping to challenge outdated perceptions, promote equality and inspire the next generation to participate in sport and physical activity. Participation rates among young girls are increasing, and more women are moving into leadership roles across coaching, management and sports governance.

While significant progress has been made, there is still work to be done in areas such as equal funding, media exposure and professional opportunities. However, the momentum behind women’s sport today is undeniable.

The future of sport will be shaped not only by incredible athletes but also by the continued commitment to ensuring that women and girls have the same opportunities to compete, succeed and be celebrated.

The growth of women’s sport is not just a sporting story — it’s a story of progress, resilience and opportunity.

Celebrating International Women’s Day 🌍💜

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of women across the world. At the WiseUp Foundation (www.thewiseupfoundation.com), we are proud to support and empower women and girls through sport, education and opportunity.

Sport has the power to transform lives. It builds confidence, leadership and community, and provides a platform for women and girls to realise their full potential. Through our programmes across golf, rugby, netball, hockey, football and tennis, we are committed to creating pathways that ensure every girl has the opportunity to participate, grow and lead.

International Women’s Day is not only a moment to celebrate progress, but also a reminder that there is still work to be done to ensure equal access, visibility and opportunity for women in sport.

Together, we can continue to break barriers, inspire the next generation and build a more inclusive future for women in sport.

Women’s sport is experiencing remarkable growth on multiple fronts — and the impact is real. Globally, revenues from women’s sport have nearly doubled in recent years and are projected to exceed $2.35 billion in 2025, up roughly 240 % in four years.

Media coverage has tripled compared with just a few years ago, and viewership continues to expand across broadcast and digital platforms. Nearly 7 in 10 people now watch women’s sport at least a few times a year, showing how mainstream interest is growing alongside participation.

At The Wise Up Foundation, we’re passionate about harnessing this momentum to drive access, opportunity and community impact through sport. When visibility, investment and participation increase, so do pathways for young athletes, inclusive community engagement and long-term social change.

Women’s sport isn’t just growing — it’s transforming how sport connects, inspires and builds stronger communities.

Supporting The Wise Up Foundation means investing directly in people within our community.

Through sport and structured development programmes, we create opportunities for individuals of all ages to build confidence, improve wellbeing, and develop life skills that extend far beyond the playing field. By removing barriers to participation and providing positive environments, we help people realise their potential and feel part of something meaningful.

Every bit of support — whether through fundraising, partnerships, or simply sharing our message — helps us reach more people and create lasting impact where it matters most.

Together, we can strengthen our community through opportunity, inclusion, and sport. www.thewiseupfoundation.com or [email protected]
