Sibusiso Mantshi The Freemantle Old Boy’s Association (“FOBA”) is an Association registered as a Voluntary Association (“VA”) under the Non Profit Organisation’s Act No. 71 of 1997. FOBA is an organization that was established by the former students dated from (1 September 2009) with the intent and purpose of providing intellectual assistance in re-shaping Freemantle
as a school and by extension, the current students going forward. Its primary focus being to re-position Freemantle to its former glory by assisting the school with fundraising for physical repairs and renovations, purchasing of necessary learning equipment and material as well as influencing curricula and non-curricula activities. The association plans to undertake its stated objectives through various collective efforts including but not limited to the following;
Establishment of, and donation of a Trust;
Establishment of Special Purpose Vehicles (“SPV”);
Seeking donations in cash and in kind from the Old Boys, government, international and local donors and corporates;
Fostering of in-business cooperation between the school, Freemantle Boy’s High School and local businesses;
Vertical integration of certain business activities.
