A DREAM COMING TRUE 🙏
This is something I have been praying for — to see businesses that are FROM our communities, doing business IN our communities, coming back to SUPPORT what we do in our communities, especially for our kids and for uplifting our people.
We have many organisations in Khayelitsha, but if we keep competing against each other — each one wanting to be seen as better — we will never win. What if we work TOGETHER? Your idea plus my idea plus his connections, that's how Khayelitsha becomes great again.
Back in the days we had Bonjour Tournament and many other big tournaments. All teams in Khayelitsha would compete. It was big! It was ours. Those tournaments produced professional players. That is what sport can do.
If we can have tournaments more often, bringing fans, parents, community members, all of us at the stadium during the day — what will happen to crime? To drug abuse? To Gender-Based Violence? We fight all those things through sport. Many players escaped those things through sport.
What are we doing wrong? What are we doing right? We need to go back to what worked — putting our children on the field and our parents in the stands.
Today I am proud and grateful to announce that Zolam Properties — a company rooted in Litha Park, Khayelitsha, with over 10 years serving our people — is on board as a sponsor for the Bafo Khewana Foundation and Alfred Ndengane Charity Cup at Mandela Park Stadium on 20-22 November 2026.
Zolam, thank you for believing in this vision. Your best REAL ESTATE in town, but also with the best HEART for our town.
This is an invitation to all other local businesses and organisations — let's not compete, let's complete each other. Khayelitsha can be great again.
