A mentorship through sports program focusing on cricket and based in Cape Town, within the South Peninsula region. Benjamin Projects is a mentorship through sports programme that’s objective is two-fold. Firstly, in our MENTORSHIP 8one8 programme, to mentor a minimum of 20 boys from grade 3 to matric who start their school career at Heathfield Primary then progress to various feeder high schools.

These young men show a definite gifting with regards to their sporting abilities. We offer holistic support during the formative years and walk alongside parents and guardians creating opportunities for the boys to grow into the potential that lies within them. Secondly as part of our SCHOOL,S project deliver the CRICKET WITH CHARACTER(CWC) life skills programme to create the environment for children to participate, play ,progress and become proficient in the game of cricket..

Term 1 Cricket Programme 2026 Recap

What an incredible start to the year for our Benjamin Projects cricket family! Term 1 has been filled with growth, opportunity, and unforgettable moments both on and off the field.

Our boys and girls have proudly represented school and club showing commitment, discipline, and a true love for the game. From weekly fixtures to training sessions, the focus has remained on participation, progress, and performance — and our players continue to rise to the challenge.

A major highlight this term was attending the SA20 Final, where our young cricketers experienced the excitement of top-level cricket. Moments like these inspire dreams and remind our players of what is possible through hard work and dedication.

We are especially proud of our new breed of cricketers who showcased their talent and enthusiasm at the Newlands Provincial Mini Cricket Festival. Seeing our young players step onto such a stage with confidence and joy is exactly what our programme is about — building not just cricketers, but confident young individuals.

From grassroots to competitive cricket, Term 1 has laid a strong foundation for the year ahead. The journey continues, and we are excited for what’s to come in Term 2 with our winter programme and afterschool programme as well as a Postive Behavior Intervention!

Sport Kit Drive | One Kit. One Child. One Moment.

Not every child steps onto the field with the gear they need — and that’s where you can make the difference.

We running a Sports Kit Drive to support young people in our cricket and life-skills programmes across Heathfield Primary, Heathfield High, and our feeder schools. A pair of cricket shoes, a bat, pads, or even pre-loved kit in good condition can open the door to confidence, belonging, and opportunity.

Your donation helps ensure our boys and girls can train, compete, and grow with dignity — on and off the field.

How you can help:
Donate new or gently used sports kit
Partner with us as a school, club, or business
Share this post and spread the word

Together, we’re building more than players — we’re building character.

Outgrown but not outworn

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Connor and Saige on being awarded the Students for a Better Future Scholarship.

This achievement is a powerful reminder of the value of a balanced approach to both sport and education — showing that success is built not only on talent on the field, but also dedication in the classroom.

Your hard work, discipline, and commitment to growing as well-rounded young leaders is truly inspiring.

Keep pushing, keep believing, and keep striving for excellence in every area of life. The journey is only beginning!

Well done, boys — we’re cheering you on every step of the way!

What an unforgettable moment for our young stars!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate 52 Heathfield Primary School learners who had the amazing opportunity to serve as flag bearers at the SA20 Final — stepping onto the field on one of the biggest stages in South African cricket.

This special experience was made possible through the generous support of

A special highlight was for Maya and Amirah, who had the incredible honour of walking out alongside the team captains — a moment they will never forget!

Opportunities like these remind our young people that they belong, they matter, and their dreams are valid.

In the words of Caleb, one of the boys "Coach this is the best day of my life".

A huge thanks for the support of our team Brendan DeWet, Cheslyn and ambassordor, Wilfred Solomons for the video.

One Day. One Child. One Moment.

Friday Night Lights at the SA20!
What an unforgettable experience for our young people on Friday night at the MICT SA20 game!

Two groups, one powerful moment:
Our ball boys, made possible through Western Province Cricket, were right in the action — within touching distance of the very heroes they usually only watch on a screen. Seeing the game up close, feeling the energy, and sharing the field with their role models was nothing short of inspiring.
Our spectators soaked up the atmosphere from the stands, witnessing elite cricket at its best and dreaming a little bigger because of it.

These moments were made possible through the support of the Sport for Good Foundation, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity given to our boys.

We believe in the power of exposure, opportunity, and moments that spark belief. Friday night was exactly that — one night, many dreams ignited.
