Benjamin Projects South Africa is a Not For Profit (NPO) organization registered in 2021 but started it's informal operations in 2014.

A mentorship through sports program focusing on cricket and based in Cape Town, within the South Peninsula region. Benjamin Projects is a mentorship through sports programme that’s objective is two-fold. Firstly, in our MENTORSHIP 8one8 programme, to mentor a minimum of 20 boys from grade 3 to matric who start their school career at Heathfield Primary then progress to various feeder high schools.

These young men show a definite gifting with regards to their sporting abilities. We offer holistic support during the formative years and walk alongside parents and guardians creating opportunities for the boys to grow into the potential that lies within them. Secondly as part of our SCHOOL,S project deliver the CRICKET WITH CHARACTER(CWC) life skills programme to create the environment for children to participate, play ,progress and become proficient in the game of cricket..

PRE-SEASON IS OFFICIALLY HERE!

Join Benjamin Projects in equipping our children in pursuit of their passion for cricket.

As another exciting season approaches, we're launching our Preloved Cricket Kit Drive to ensure that every child has the opportunity to play, learn and grow through the game they love.

We're looking for donations of:
Cricket bats
Batting gloves
Pads
Helmets
Wicketkeeping equipment
Cricket shoes
Cricket clothing and whites
Kit bags
Cricket balls and any other cricket equipment

Your preloved kit can become a young player's first bat, first innings, and the beginning of an incredible journey.

We are incredibly grateful and proud to share that Saige, Connor, and Miguel have each been awarded academic scholarships to attend Rondebosch Boys' High School and Wynberg Boys' High School in 2027

Their scholarships are not only a recognition of their academic potential but also a testament to the support of their families, teachers, coaches, mentors, and the wider community who have invested in their journey.

As they prepare to enter this exciting new chapter, we celebrate the young men they have become and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in the years ahead.

We remain committed to creating opportunities and walking alongside young people as they pursue their dreams and unlock their potential. Success is not achieved overnight, but through daily dedication to their academics, personal growth, and character development.

What an incredible opportunity for Connor and Saige to share their personal journeys and experiences of receiving scholarships through the (SBF) Scholarship Programme.

Joining them was Petra Apollis, a former Heathfield Primary learner, SBF alumni, and recent graduate who has completed her Master of Science in Sports Science at Stellenbosch University. Petra's story is a powerful example of what can be achieved through dedication, hard work, and the opportunities that education can provide.

Together, they spent time encouraging and inspiring current Grade 5 and 6 learners and parents at Heathfield Primary, sharing valuable lessons about perseverance, goal-setting, and making the most of every opportunity that comes their way.

Seeing former and current scholarship recipients giving back and motivating younger learners is exactly the kind of ripple effect that creates lasting change in our communities.

Thank you to Connor, Saige, and Petra for investing in the future leaders of our community. Your stories remind us that dreams are achievable when talent, determination, and opportunity come together.

As we celebrate Youth Month, we are reminded that every young person deserves an opportunity to grow, learn, and contribute positively to their community.

Today, we celebrate Wilfred, whose journey through the has been one of commitment, growth, and determination.

Through the programme, Wilfred has embraced opportunities to develop and strengthen his confidence as a young leader. His willingness to learn, adapt, and serve has demonstrated the incredible potential that exists within our youth when they are given the right support and opportunities.

Youth Month is not only a time to remember the sacrifices of those who came before us, but also a time to invest in the future by empowering young people to become active contributors in their families, communities, and workplaces.

We are proud to be part of Wilfred's journey and look forward to seeing what the future holds for him. His story is a reminder that when young people are equipped with skills, mentorship, and opportunity, they can achieve remarkable things.

From curious young boys to confident young men making their mark — today we celebrate the incredible growth journey of Ayabonga and Siyabonga at Heathfield High School, both keen volleyball players.

Now in Matric, these two young men continue to inspire us through their commitment, discipline, leadership, and determination. They have also excelled academically by placing within the Top 15 learners at their school.

Ayabonga serves as a school prefect and Siyabonga as Deputy Head Boy has continued to lead both on and off the sports field. Alongside his academic achievements, Siyabonga he proudly has been selected to represent the Western Cape Provincial Volleyball side — a remarkable achievement that reflects hard work, resilience and dedication

Their story reminds us why mentorship matters. When young people are identified, encouraged, and supported during their formative years, their potential begins to flourish far beyond the classroom or sports field. It teaches young people to believe in themselves before the world fully sees their potential.

We have witnessed firsthand how guidance, structure, and positive role models can transform the trajectory of a young person’s life.

Ayabonga and Siyabonga are examples of what is possible when communities invest intentionally in young people. Their journey is proof that with support, mentorship, and opportunity, our youth can rise above challenges and become leaders within their schools and communities.

What an inspiring and impactful day at the Laureus Hub Connect Summit 2026!

Benjamin Projects was privileged to attend a gathering filled with powerful conversations, insightful talks, and thought-provoking panel discussions centred around the role of sport and community development in transforming lives.

The summit provided an incredible platform to engage with passionate leaders, organisations, and changemakers who are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for young people through sport and education. These conversations continue to reinforce the importance of collaboration, safeguarding, mentorship, and holistic youth development within our communities.

We leave encouraged, motivated, and excited to continue strengthening our programmes for the boys and girls we serve across the South Peninsula.

A heartfelt thank you to the Laureus tem, speakers, and everyone who shared their experiences, knowledge, and vision for a better future through sport for good.

Term 1 Cricket Programme 2026 Recap

What an incredible start to the year for our Benjamin Projects cricket family! Term 1 has been filled with growth, opportunity, and unforgettable moments both on and off the field.

Our boys and girls have proudly represented school and club showing commitment, discipline, and a true love for the game. From weekly fixtures to training sessions, the focus has remained on participation, progress, and performance — and our players continue to rise to the challenge.

A major highlight this term was attending the SA20 Final, where our young cricketers experienced the excitement of top-level cricket. Moments like these inspire dreams and remind our players of what is possible through hard work and dedication.

We are especially proud of our new breed of cricketers who showcased their talent and enthusiasm at the Newlands Provincial Mini Cricket Festival. Seeing our young players step onto such a stage with confidence and joy is exactly what our programme is about — building not just cricketers, but confident young individuals.

From grassroots to competitive cricket, Term 1 has laid a strong foundation for the year ahead. The journey continues, and we are excited for what’s to come in Term 2 with our winter programme and afterschool programme as well as a Postive Behavior Intervention!
