January is Braille Awareness Month. More than just six dots.
To our clients braille means: Literacy. Learning. Independence. Education. Employment. Freedom. Orientation. Access. Safety. Fun. Enjoyment. Information. Knowledge. Opportunity. Community. Connection. Inclusion. Belonging. Contribution. Participation. Success. Growth. Life-changing. Hope. Confidence. Empowerment.

LOFOB empowers blind and visually impaired people, and their families with braille training, books, materials, assistive devices, and technology. To learn more about, and to donate to our braille programs visit www.lofob.org.za. We’re inviting schools to schedule a braille awareness session for their learners with us during Term 1. Email [email protected] or call O217053753.

3 DECEMBER 2025. LOFOB joins the global community in commemorating International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Everyone has a seat at the table, and everyone’s voice matters. As a country, may we always strive to do more to include, accept, and support people with disabilities. Today especially, LOFOB honours blind and visually impaired children, youth, and adults; their parents, carers, and supporters. Your resilience, and contributions inspire us everyday.
