Aims of the Association

The main aim of the Association is to provide ongoing support for Nurses through the provision of continuing education and seminars, CPD training, maintaining & managing Nurses portfolio of evidence, assist with Job Placements, providing members with various benefits as negotiated by NINA on behalf of our members. NINA promotes the interests of nurses and often have legislative discussions with various statutory and regulatory bodies continuously seeking to improve the nursing environment in South Africa.

Mission Statement

To promote the character and image of the Nurses professionally and publicly as caring and proficient.

The Mission of NINA is to empower nurses to improve health care in all specialties.

Code of conduct

To promote the character and image of the nurses and the association at all times.

To uphold all ethical and practical standards of nursing.

To ensure adequately training and continual updating in the aspects of nursing being offered to patients.

To ensure at all times that members will practice the profession with conscience and dignity and will not impose any political, religious or philosophical views on patients.

NINA In A Nutshell

NINA is promoting the interests of Nurses in South Africa and believes that being a nurse is one of the most selfless acts a person can undertake. In a society of so many different races, cultures, customs, and beliefs, nurses are a universal gift to all, and the dedicated work that they do and kindness they deliver on a daily basis should serve as a reminder of the fundamental humanity inside us all.

NINA negotiates with various appropriate companies in order to provide very competitive prices and excellent services and value for money, at greatly reduced costs to our members.

NINA is a service organisation in terms of our Constitution. We exist solely for our members and there are no shareholders who can lay claim to assets or profits. Because of this, we are able to plough the profits back into benefits for members

NINA also lobbies, represents, promotes and intercedes on behalf of its members and Nurses in general wherever required.

Nurse is just another word to describe a person strong enough to tolerate anything and soft enough to understand anyone someone who dispense comfort, compassion, and caring without even a prescription.

Too often we underestimate the power of a nurse’s touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring; all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
