We are proud to officially welcome Paul Von Zeuner as the new Technical Director of Sabba Movement.

Paul brings valuable experience, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to practical skills development. Beyond strengthening our technical training programmes, he will help shape the next chapter of Sabba Movement — guiding the growth of our social enterprises and stewarding the evolution of our digital presence to better serve our community.

He will also lead the thoughtful integration of AI tools and innovative digital strategies to expand our reach, strengthen our impact, and ensure we remain relevant in a fast-changing world.

We are confident that under his guidance, our technical capacity, digital platforms, and social impact will continue to grow in meaningful and sustainable ways.

🌱💚 A little life update from the SABBA side…

We’ve been a bit quiet on here — but trust us, it’s been anything but quiet in real life 😅

The hotel gardens and indoor plants are looking beautiful (we may or may not stop to admire them every time 🌿).

Our school gardens in Retreat and Belhar are doing exactly what they’re meant to do — sending fresh, organic veggies and herbs straight into daily meals. And that never gets old.

Behind the scenes we’re also:
🍄 Building our mushroom franchise
📚 Growing Sabba College
🛠️ Supporting clients through our business & property consulting
🌳 Taking on new foodscaping and landscaping projects

And in between all of that… planning the next school and community gardens. Always.

It’s a lot of moving parts.
It’s a lot of coffee.
It’s a lot of heart.

Starting the year on a high note 💚

During 2025, Sabba Movement was grateful to secure a donation of new urinals and basins for Belvue Primary School in Belhar, Cape Town.

The school is over 50 years old, and due to long-standing budget constraints, parts of the infrastructure had not been upgraded in years. The boys’ toilets were leaking, difficult to keep fresh, and uncomfortable to use — despite the school’s dedicated cleaning efforts.

When we offered to donate the hardware, the school community stepped in. Skilled and capable parents completed a beautiful installation, transforming the space completely. Belvue Primary School- Belhar

Today, the boys of Belvue Primary have access to safe, clean and dignified sanitation — something every child deserves.

These vibrant edible flowers come from the herb garden we manage at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Upper East Side in Cape Town. Picked fresh daily, they are used to beautify the dishes served to guests — while the income from this social-enterprise garden helps fund our food-security, skills-development, and community projects across the Western Cape.

🌱✨ What an unforgettable day at Dr vd Ross Primary! ✨🌱

We teamed up with an amazing group of volunteers from Ten Lifestyle Group to bring 980 learners (Grade R–3) a day of art, yoga and gardening — all first-time experiences for many of them.

🌿 Planting 1,000 veggies for the school’s feeding scheme

There’s nothing more rewarding than bumping into the incredible chefs at the DoubleTree by Hilton – Upper Eastside in Woodstock as they harvest the beautiful bounty from their herb garden.

Sabba Movement cares for this garden, and seeing fresh herbs and edible flowers being lovingly picked to flavour meals for guests truly makes our hearts sing. 💚

Every sprig harvested not only elevates a dish—but also helps us continue our mission of creating sustainable food gardens across the Western Cape.
