𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗧𝗢 𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘 💙

From running terrified along the busy R300, dodging cars and desperately trying to survive...🥹

To being rescued by the incredible team from City of Cape Town Traffic Services, Law Enforcement and our very own Inspector Crystal... who was off duty, but couldn't simply drive past a dog in danger.

That day changed everything for Haven.

Today, this beautiful girl is living a completely different life.

No more busy roads.
No more fear.
No more trying to survive on her own.

Instead, Haven is warm, safe and loved in her new home, where she has even gained a new Pug friend to keep her company.

She is being spoiled with love, care, cuddles and all the happiness she deserves.

From a dangerous road to a loving home...Haven's second chance has truly begun.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in giving this beautiful girl her happy ending.

Sometimes, all an animal needs is one person to stop, one team to help, and one home willing to love them.

Haven's story is proof that rescue changes lives.

Meet our worldwide puppy squad! These six little cuties are only 5 weeks old, but more than ready to find their forever homes. 🐾💙🏡

London (female, light-tan) is very sweet & affectionate. She waits patiently until it’s her turn for cuddles. 😍

Tokyo (male, tri-color) is a little whirlwind, always nagging you for pets & treats - which is why we gave him a little bell to announce his presence ahead. 🔔

Paris (female, light/tan) is the boss! Although being the runt of the litter, this girl is clearly running the show. She makes sure she’s the first on your lap & the others will wait their turn. 💅

Boston (male, black/tan) is the fluffiest of the group. This little guy is very much aware that he’s cute and he’s absolutely ready to use this for his own advantage. 🧸

Lisbon (male, light/tan) is our only tan boy & the most mature of our puppy squad. He’s keeping a cool head, even though the others go crazy chasing whatever toy is introduced. 😎

Cairo (male, black/tan) is - together with our girl London - the most affectionate of the group. He will drop everything he’s been chewing on to get that pets from you. 🥹

𝗔 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗞𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡, 𝗔 𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘… 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗔 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗔𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗘 🥹🐈‍⬛

Meet Cloudy, a tiny 6-week-old kitten who was recently rushed to our hospital after accidentally being given a spot-on treatment intended for dogs.

What started as a simple attempt by her owner to protect her from ticks and fleas quickly turned into a terrifying emergency.

Cloudy began fitting and needed urgent veterinary intervention. Her owner never intended for this to happen and it was a genuine accident, made even more concerning by the fact that some pet products can be sold without customers being properly informed that certain tick and flea treatments are not safe for cats or kittens.

At just 6 weeks old, Cloudy was fighting for her life.

Our hospital team immediately stepped in to control the situation, provide treatment and closely monitor her in our high-care unit.

And thankfully… Cloudy fought back.

After receiving the care she needed, this little fighter made an amazing recovery and was finally able to go home with her family.

And there was even more good news - Cloudy has now been sterilised, helping to give her the safest and healthiest future possible.

⚠️ PLEASE CHECK BEFORE YOU TREAT YOUR PET!

Before purchasing any tick or flea treatment, always:

• Read the packaging and instructions carefully.
• Make absolutely sure the product is specifically safe for cats or dogs and appropriate for their age and weight.
• Never assume that a product safe for dogs is safe for cats.
• If there are no proper labels or instructions, do not purchase or use the product.
• When in doubt, speak to a registered veterinarian or veterinary clinic before using any treatment.

We would strongly encourage pet owners to purchase veterinary products from a veterinary practice or registered veterinary outlet, where you can ask questions and receive proper guidance.

Cloudy was lucky.

Her story could have ended very differently.

Today, instead of a little kitten fighting for her life in our high care, Cloudy is back home where she belongs - happy, recovering and ready to enjoy her second chance.

One mistake almost cost Cloudy her life.

Please don't let it happen to your pet.

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗟 𝗗𝗔𝗬: 𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗪𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 💙🤩

What an incredible day it was celebrating World Animal Day at Paws-A-While, surrounded by so many amazing organisations, animal lovers and supporters who share the same passion - making a real difference in the lives of animals across Cape Town.

Together, we are working towards one important goal: driving sterilisation campaigns into communities and helping prevent the cycle of unwanted litters.

We hope you also got the chance to meet some of our gorgeous dogs looking for their forever homes.

Perhaps one of them even stole your heart!

And most importantly, every donation raised through Paws A While goes directly towards funding our ongoing sterilisation campaigns.

These campaigns are reaching communities that need our help the most and are making a meaningful, lasting impact - one sterilisation at a time.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who supported, donated, volunteered, attended and helped make the day so special.

Together, we can Sterilise. Save. Repeat.

Meet Snowball! (Yes, we know she’s half-black & no, she didn’t chose her name… 🙄⛄️)

Due to her good looks, this rough-haired Terrier girl stops people in their tracks. She absolutely knows that she’s cute and she uses this fact for her own advantage. 😌

You might not be able to tell by her very serious-looking pictures, but Snowball is a funny, curious, active girl who treats every new person like a potential accomplice.

She’s technically still a puppy, with a lot of puppy-nonsense on her mind. She absolutely loves other dogs (cats due to her Terrier-traits not so much…yet) and she would do great in an active family who might already have existing fur/non-fur siblings.

She is cute, friendly and a little full of herself — in the best way. If you want to come and visit her, please get in touch!

Snowball | female | +-7 months | Terrier cross | small-medium
