🌱 Real change starts early.

For the past three years, Rotary Clubs am Kap and Bamberg-Domreiter, together with GrowECD, have been supporting Montclair Kids Educare in Mitchells Plain.

A lot has happened during that time:

👩‍🏫 Teachers have received training and ongoing support
📚 New learning materials and a structured curriculum were introduced
📱 Technology now helps with teaching and administration
🛝 Classrooms, toilets and outdoor play areas have been improved

Today, Montclair is a better place for children to learn, play and grow – and for teachers to do their work.

It’s a project we are really proud of and a great example of what Rotary can achieve when people work together and simply get things done.

Want to get involved? Come join us. 💙

Congratulations to Mbali Valashiya on this inspiring journey, and heartfelt appreciation to Rotary Club of Neuss (D1870) and Heidi Brown-Koelble and Michael Schröder from Rotary am Kap for believing in her and helping make this life-changing story possible.

Mbali’s journey as captured in Rotary Africa (Thank you!) shows what can happen when someone is given a chance. That’s what Rotary am Kap is all about -
together, we are changing lives. 🌍✨

183 girls. Endless potential. 🚀

After a year of planning, we’re back in Khayelitsha! We’ve teamed up with our Rotary friends in Austria and Germany to launch a new round of support for the incredible Molo Mhlaba School.
This isn't just a school—it's a launchpad. Using the Montessori approach, these girls are diving deep into STEM and the Arts, proving that where you start doesn't define how high you can fly.
Proud is an understatement. 🌍✨

RCamKap Fellowship: The Rotary Amazing Race around Cape Town… three teams chased clues that took us to the Goethe Zentrum, the Castle, Flower Market, St George’s Mall, Green Market Square, Company Gardens & the National Museum. Truly a wonderful event where we learnt so much about our beautiful city and had loads of fun!

RCamKap was very fortunate to host Diana Ferrus at our Club meeting on 9 November 2023. ⭐️⭐️⭐️Diana Ferrus is a South African writer and storyteller of mixed Khoisan and slave ancestry.
Ferrus is best known for her poem about Sarah Baartman, a South African woman taken to Europe under false pretenses and paraded as a curiosity. She wrote the poem in 1998 while studying at Utrecht University. The popularity of this poem is widely believed to be responsible for the return of Bartmann's remains to South Africa. The poem was published into a French law.
Ferrus is a founder of the Afrikaans Skrywersvereniging (ASV), Bush Poets, and Women in Xchains. She has a publishing company called Diana Ferrus Publishers and has co-edited and published a collection of stories about fathers and daughters.
