The Masonic Home for Quadriplegics/Paraplegics, situated in Uitzicht Durbanville, is affiliated to the QuadPara Association of the Western Cape (QAWC) which in turn forms part of the QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA). The Home accommodates seven quadriplegics/paraplegics and employs six caregivers who provide 24-hour care for the residents per day. The Home is a non-profit, non-discrimin
atory public benefit organization, promoting the rights and needs of quadriplegics/ paraplegics from all walks of life, irrespective of race, creed or gender. The Homeβs running costs are in excess and it is an ongoing struggle to make ends meet. We receive a nominal monthly state subsidy and the balance of required funds needs to be generated from fundraising initiatives and donations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the house's donators have opt-out leaving the house with so many expenses that cannot be maintained with the remaining donors. There is a very real possibility now of the house having to be closed if things donβt turn around extremely quickly. We are currently in need of Financial Support or any other donations towards the Home will be greatly appreciated. Masonic Home is 18A approved (Tax Clearance Certificate). Donors can claim a tax deduction on any financial donation they make to Masonic Home.
