The Youth Hub The Youth Hub - Nurturing Wellbeing. Unlocking Potential. We are counselling centre for adolescents aged 13 - 18 who require free counselling services.

Located in Cape Town, our qualified psychology practitioners offer in-person and online sessions. The Youth Hub - guiding minds, inspiring hearts. The Youth Hub is a SACAP Foundation initiative established in partnership with Groote Schuur Hospital Adolescent Centre of Excellence (ACE). At The Youth Hub, we understand that adolescence is a pivotal time when the seeds of confidence, resilience and self-awareness are sown. By fostering a nurturing environment, we aim to instill a strong sense of self-belief – allowing adolescents to navigate life’s complexities with
strength and positivity. The Youth Hub is a free dedicated counselling centre for adolescents 13 - 18. We are focused on supporting you during your transformative years – addressing your unique challenges. Our goal is to offer a safe
environment for guidance and support to improve mental and emotional well-being. Life as a teenager can be a wild ride, but you’re not riding solo. We understand the unique challenges and complexities that you face during this crucial stage of life. Our primary objective is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can receive the guidance and support needed to navigate the ups and downs of mental
and emotional well-being. Our team of qualified practitioners specialise in understanding the unique struggles and complexities that adolescents face today, offering them a safe and nurturing environment to explore their thoughts and emotions. Through personalised sessions, we empower adolescents to overcome challenges, manage stress, and build resilience. Addressing various issues such as academic pressure and anxiety, our holistic approach fosters personal growth. Together, we cultivate emotional well-being, empowering adolescents to enjoy fulfilling lives.

Ziyaad and Melissa dedicated their time during the school holiday's to offer counselling services and psychometric assessments to some of our clients. Both Ziyaad and Melissa truly made a profound impact on the lives of many our clients and their families

Transforming local collaboration into real impact! 🌟✨

The Youth Hub Project Manager, Genevieve Burrow, attended a vibrant Planet Youth collaborative community stakeholder meeting alongside GSH ACE's Adolescent Specialist Paediatrician, Dr Zakira Mukaddem-Sablay. Together, they proudly represented both The Youth Hub and GSH ACE! 🏥💜🦋

The event brought together incredible community organisations and dedicated stakeholders, all united by a shared mission: empowering young people and supporting our community. It was an inspiring space to showcase the range of services, specialised programmes, resources, and mental health support offered to youth and families across Cape Town.

Authentic connection lies at the heart of meaningful change. Genevieve built valuable networks, laying the groundwork for exciting future partnerships and joint community initiatives. 🤝🚀

We are stronger together! Thank you to Planet Youth and Healthy Futures, and every organisation in attendance for doing the work to create a brighter, safer, and more supportive environment for our youth.

A morning of Remembrance

On Thursday 10th September 2026,we observed Su***de Prevention Day.

Staff at the Youth Hub and the Groote Schuur Hospital Adolescent Centre of Excellence wore blue and purple, and gathered in The Garden of Hope to honour those who have lost their lives to su***de and those who struggle with su***de ideation.

The Youth Hub Project Manager Genevieve Burrow, spoke about the important role of staff at the facility in the lives of patients and their families, and su***de prevention.

We wrote messages of Hope, and honoured the names of those we have lost.

This week is bittersweet, as we bid the first cohort of our student registered counsellor's farewell, as their practicum at The Youth Hub has come to an end.

To Amicah, Jess, Jethro, Nicola, Razia, Rea and Rehmat, we would like to extend our heartfelt thank you for your ongoing, dedication to your clients & caregivers , professionalism, creativity and hard work. We are immensely proud of how much you have grown, and the positive impact that you have had on the lives of many young people.

We wish you success as your prepare your professional journey ahead, and we look forward to crossing paths with you in future!

We are proud to share that the Groote Schuur Adolescent Centre of Excellence and The Youth Hub has successfully passed our Fire Drill & Emergency Readiness Assessment with 100%! 🎉👏🏽

Being a safe space for young people means more than providing quality counselling and support, it also means ensuring that our team is prepared, informed and equipped to respond when an emergency occurs.

Today’s assessment tested our readiness, teamwork and knowledge of emergency procedures, and we’re incredibly proud of how our team came together. 💪🏽

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated and helped make this possible! Your commitment to creating a safe environment for our young people, families and colleagues truly matters.
