As part of the Arisen Women Foundation Youth Day Outreach in New Woodlands, the Metro Police Equestrian Unit gave the youth an exciting opportunity to learn about mounted policing, interact with the horses, ask questions, and capture special photos.

As part of our Youth Day Outreach in New Woodlands, youth had the opportunity to witness first-hand how highly trained K9 officers assist in combating crime and keeping communities safe.

Through engaging demonstrations and interaction with the K9 team, young people gained valuable insight into the role law enforcement plays in building safer communities and creating positive futures.

As part of our Youth Day Outreach in New Woodlands, local youth had the opportunity to learn about fire safety, emergency response, and the important role firefighters play in our communities. The highlight? Taking turns operating a fire hose and exploring a fire engine!

A heartfelt thank you to the Mitchells Plain Fire Station and the City of Cape Town for investing in our youth, inspiring future generations, and showing them what is possible when passion meets purpose.

🌟 Celebrating YOUTH DAY 2026 💫✨⭐ Through Opportunity, Learning, and Community 🌟

Ahead of Youth Day 2026, Arisen Women Foundation hosted a Community Outreach in New Woodlands, Mitchells Plain, bringing together youth and community members for a day of learning, engagement, and essential health services.

Arisen Women Foundation also provided vital community healthcare services, including HIV testing, blood pressure screening, and glucose testing, supporting health awareness and preventative care for residents of New Woodlands.

In honour of Youth Day, the outreach focused on empowering young people through exposure, education, and positive role models, reflecting the spirit of 16 June and the importance of investing in the next generation.

From operating a fire hose with the Mitchells Plain Fire Station, to witnessing the incredible skills of the Metro Police K9 Unit, and meeting the magnificent horses of the Metro Police Equestrian Unit, our youth were given meaningful opportunities to learn, engage, and dream bigger.

These experiences do more than educate—they inspire. They expose young people to positive role models, career pathways, and the dedicated services working daily to build safer and stronger communities.

A heartfelt thank you to all our partners, volunteers, and community members who made this outreach possible.

Together, we are investing in the future of our youth.
