explore4knowledge Award Winning citizen science, syllabus based, Environmental Research, Education & Capacity Building Yet all of these can be missed for they are but a breath."

With the current state of our planet and the damage sustained by our fragile environment in mind this page is designed to share with you what we find on our trips, expeditions and adventures. We are proud to be partnered with some amazing organisations and companies promoting environmental awareness and education in local communities within our research and project areas. "For it is truly when we

sit in the middle of nowhere with nothing, that we realise the magnitude of life around us and our dilemma. We go to the mountains to listen for that which we cannot hear, to see that which cannot be seen and feel that which cannot be felt. Remember to be the change you want to see in the world...

Though we have been silent through the pandemic period we have been busy and we can not wait to share our new website with you, as well as celebrate the last decade of exploration with you.

Yes, that’s correct, 10 years (2011-2021) and to celebrate this we will be looking at past projects, sharing stories with you that you have not seen before. All the while preparing you for what the next decade holds for us as a team.

The Down Parka I am wearing serves as an indication of what is to come, but do not worry we will still be wearing flip flops and Khaki Shorts on many of our adventures, we have not left the majestic African Bush forever.

Though what I can share with you is that our stories will form part of an ongoing series focusing on highlighting the plight of conservation areas, the importance of tourism, and the need for citizen science in the same way our work has done for the past decade.

This time with some bears, wolves, beavers, glaciers, and snow-covered mountains.

So Subscribe to our channels to find out more.

CLIMATE

Our partnership with the Antarctic Science Foundation not only provides us with an opportunity to learn from some of the planets leading scientists, but also to assist them in collecting data.

We will be collecting clean air data across the continent as well as human biological data which will be used to understand the human body for interplanetary manned space missions.

MORE ON NAVIGATION

Today navigation is not much different, but with some assistance from modern maps and GPS navigation systems.

Though we still rely on the natural environment to find our way

∙ Using the position of our shadows on the ice
∙ The Direction of the wind
∙ The position of the sun

No matter how advance we are with satellite communication and navigation, we still need to know the basics.

Our Story

Focusing on our 4 main pillars namely Education, Expedition, Awareness and Conservation explore4knowledge® has reached over 100 000 learners and educators to date through its multi-award winning workshops, mobile classrooms, camps, and expeditions.

These do not only promote an innovative and holistic approach to syllabus-based learning, but have become a benchmark in promoting the pursuit of exploration in the fields of Geography, Biology, and Science.

As an organization, we have worked closely with community leaders and educators, not only addressing specific needs in rural and urban classrooms, but also focusing on needs within the curriculum as well as on the UN Sustainable Development Goals across all aspects of the organization.

Through partnering with industry leaders, corporate sponsors, and private donors we have been able to make use of various citizen science tools, technologies, and innovative thinking, while remaining true to our core mission of promoting Education Through Adventure® through the various pillars of the organization.
