Notre première rencontre en 2026 a eu lieu hier après midi.
Nous avons passé un excellent moment chez René et Allison qui ont eu la gentillesse de nous accueillir.
Ce fût l'occasion de rencontrer de nouveaux arrivants au Cap et de retrouver Jean Michel après de longues années.
La galette des rois, les gâteaux et le Munster, était excellent.

Nous avions notre Fan Day hier à Paarl : nous sommes passés de 7 participants en 2024 à 82 cette année, et nous nous sommes bien amusés ! Je vous remercie tous pour votre présence et votre contribution — ce fut une belle fête. Hopla, et bonne semaine !

Hello everyone!

If you are from Alsace, a friend of Alsace, or simply curious about Alsace, we would like to invite you to an Alsatian celebration. It will be an opportunity to celebrate what we love about this beautiful region.
Alsace is a French region that combines history, gastronomy, and enchanting landscapes, making it an ideal destination for travelers.

This afternoon, June 21st, is part of FAN DAY, promoted and organized by the UIA (International Union of Alsatians in the World) and the CEA (European Community of Alsace).

All over the world, Alsatians and their friends celebrate Alsace during the week of June 24th, by gathering around their town, company, association, or friends. The events will be publicized in Alsace and elsewhere
This year will feature an international competition for the most original Alsatian headdress, and we will participate by creating the Afro-Alsatian headdress.

On the menu:

Aperitif, tartes flambées, wine, dessert, and tasting of Alsatian and South African wines and cheeses.
Musicians will provide entertainment throughout the day, and a quiz will test your knowledge.
We will demonstrate the creation of our Afro-Alsatian headdress and costume.

Please save the date: June 21st, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at La Grapperia restaurant in Paarl.

A contribution of R480 per person is required.
Free for children under 13.

Notre première participation à la Fête de la Francophonie au Cap, samedi 15 mars 2025. Quelle belle journée. Notre stand a eu beaucoup de succès. Vive l'Alsace. Hopla!

*GALETTE DES ROIS 2025 -PULLMAN CAPE TOWN*

Chaque hiver, les familles d’Alsace se réunissent pour savourer la Galette des Rois, une délicieuse pâte feuilletée fourrée à la crème d’amande. Cette tradition, datant du Moyen Âge, célèbre la visite des Trois Rois 👑👑👑 auprès de l’enfant Jésus.

Le moment le plus amusant arrive lorsque la fève, une petite figurine cachée dans la galette, est découverte ! L’enfant le plus jeune, assis sous la table, distribue les parts au hasard. Celui ou celle qui trouve la fève est couronné(e) roi ou reine du jour et porte fièrement sa couronne en papier.

Un moment de bonheur, de partage et de convivialité qui réchauffe les cœurs et traverse les générations. ❤✨
Every winter, Alsace families gather to enjoy the Galette des Rois, a golden puff pastry filled with almond cream. This tradition, dating back to the Middle Ages, celebrates the visit of the Three Kings 👑👑👑 to the baby Jesus.

The fun begins when a tiny fève a hidden charm—is tucked inside the cake. The youngest child, sitting under the table, playfully calls out who gets each slice. The lucky one who finds the fève is crowned king or queen for the day, wearing a festive paper crown.

Laughter, warmth, and family joy fill the room as this beloved tradition continues, passing from generation to generation. ❤✨
