Today we honoured an invitation to participate in ‘s inaugural Uplift Day, a gathering that brings together a diverse network of partners, and organisations committed to creating meaningful impact across South Africa.

As a longstanding partner of , through the Creative Club programme, we were proud to share our mission on how music and creative education guided by wellbeing continue to create pathways to opportunity for young people in underserved communities. Through the Social Impact Expo and panel discussions, we had the opportunity connect with fellow organisations, demonstrating the power of collaborative action.

Thanks to for creating a platform that not only celebrates impact but strengthens the relationships that make it possible. We look forward to future opportunities together.

As we begin Youth Month, we’re reminded of the challenges facing millions of young South Africans as they work to build their futures.

Statistics South Africa reports that youth unemployment remains more than double that of adults, while 61% of unemployed youth have no previous work experience. These figures highlight the barriers many young people face when trying to access opportunities and participate meaningfully in the economy. (Statistics South Africa)
academy, we are committed to helping young creatives develop the skills, confidence, networks and opportunities needed to pursue sustainable careers in the music and creative industries.

This Youth Month, we celebrate the resilience and potential of South Africa’s youth, plus the collective responsibility we share in creating pathways for them to thrive.

There’s a power in music that can’t always be explained but it can be felt instantly.

It’s the moment a young person hears themselves a little differently, more capable and confident.

In underserved communities, there can be a feeling of uncertainty because of how day-to-day struggles shape the reality for many young South Africans. At .academy, we create a space where that narrative can shift, using creativity and music as a catalyst for change.

Through our partnership with , we’re seeing real pathways open up for young creatives in the Creative Club. From hands-on industry exposure to meaningful connections across corporate communities in the Western Cape.

A standout moment was for our students to meet Cape Town Mayor .hill.lewis following a Stella performance which left a powerful reminder of what visibility and belief can unlock.

This is what impact looks like when community and support align.

As an organisation grounded in the belief that music is a catalyst for change, this year’s Benefits Dinner with carried deep meaning. 🇿🇦💙

Kickstarting the weekend in Johannesburg, we had the honour of celebrating — a pioneer whose legacy continues to shape South African music and inspire the next generations.

In these events, bringing together artists, partners and supporters reflect the power of music not just as an industry but as a force for connection and impact.

Thank you to everyone who shared this moment with us and continues to believe in the future we are building.
