🏆 A very special moment for the South African Children’s Home 🏆
Yesterday, we were deeply honoured and humbled to receive a Certificate of Recognition at the Ward 77 – Sub-Council 16 Civic Awards 2026, presented to us by Councillor Francine Higham, Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health.
For over two centuries, the South African Children’s Home has been a place of safety, care and hope for vulnerable children. To have this work recognised by our community is incredibly meaningful to us.
But most importantly, this recognition belongs to every member of the SA Children’s Home family.
It belongs to the dedicated childcare staff who care for our children day and night; our management, maintenance and support teams; our Board; our volunteers; and every person who works tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to ensure that the children in our care have a safe, stable and loving home.
The work we do is truly a team effort. Every act of kindness, every long day, every challenge overcome and every contribution plays a part in making a difference in a child's life.
We are so grateful to each and every person who is part of this journey. This award is a reflection of your commitment, your compassion and your hearts. ❤️
Our sincere thanks to Councillor Francine Higham, Ward 77 and Sub-Council 16 for this meaningful recognition. We are proud to serve our community and even more grateful to be surrounded by people who believe in the importance of caring for and investing in children.
Together, we continue to create a place where children can feel safe, loved and hopeful about their futures. 🏡
