Celebrating What Our Young Adults Have Created!

Our young adults are already busy with their third product, made right here in our new workshop at Anselm Farm!

Watching them get involved and enjoy what they are doing shows us just how valuable it is to have a space where they can take part in meaningful activities and create things together.

They form part of each step of the process, from getting started to seeing the finished product come together.

Our hope is to continue creating more opportunities like this for our young adults, where they can spend their time doing something meaningful and enjoyable.

Learning Skills for Everyday Life.

At Amathemba Special Needs School, our Skills Programme gives our learners the opportunity to practise practical skills they can use in everyday life.

From learning basic first aid and packing first aid bags to checking expiry dates, each activity gives them the chance to take part, practise and learn through doing.

For children affected by FASD, practical, hands-on activities can be especially helpful. Seeing something and having the opportunity to do it themselves can make learning easier and more meaningful.

We are proud of every little step our learners take and the way they enjoy being involved in these activities.

A Little Adventure

A change of scenery, some fresh air!

Our Intermediate Phase learners had a wonderful outing during Term 3, getting the chance to explore, enjoy nature and experience something a little different from their usual school day.

For our learners, outings like these are about more than just having fun. They’re opportunities to try new things, grow in confidence, become a little more independent and make memories they’ll remember.

We love seeing our children enjoying these moments and making the most of every opportunity to learn and grow.

Every drawing tells a story.

Jethro has come such a long way, and we're incredibly proud of how much he has grown.

Art has become one of his favourite ways to focus, express himself, and enjoy quiet moments of creativity.

Watching his concentration and confidence grow with every sketch has been a wonderful milestone to witness.

Every line he draws is a reminder that every young person learns and shines in their own unique way.
