𝗦𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗛𝗡 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 – 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝘆𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆

The ODF exhibited at the South African Society of Occupational Health Nursing Practitioners (SASOHN) Ergonomic Seminar in late August at the Protea Hotel Tyger Valley.

The event delivered a jam-packed programme and featured multiple exhibitors. Michelle Phillps, assisted by Nurse Judy Hendra, represented the ODF and engaged with attendees about organ donation.

A special thank you to Adelé Warner for creating this valuable opportunity to raise awareness, and to Judy Hendra, who continues to support the ODF following her daughter Tanya Bothma's transplant journey. What an incredible legacy! 🫶

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 – 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

During National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Month, the ODF was invited to participate in an exhibition at Netcare Christian Barnard Memorial Hospital in the Western Cape, alongside other stakeholders, including Western Cape Transplant Sports Association and Vitanova.

Bongi Nodikida proudly represented the ODF, engaging with visitors and medical professionals and sharing the importance of organ and tissue donation.

𝗔 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

After years of relying on oxygen, double-lung transplant recipient Karen du Plessis is now back to an active lifestyle and looking forward to what lies ahead.

She encourages everyone to consider registering as an organ donor and making your decision known. “If you can, please do. I am also an organ donor. Put your name up, make sure your family and everybody is aware of that.”

What a lovely day at the Meek Café establishment in Benoni, where Keith Weeder represented the ODF at the invitation of Sarita Botha, a registered organ donor and passionate supporter of the cause.

A special thank you to Sarita for welcoming the ODF and helping us take the conversation into the community.

The Meek Café makes for a great day out, with a restaurant, salon, boutique, kiddies’ toy shop and tattoo studio all under one roof.
