The annual KZN Organ & Tissue Donor Tribute Day took place last weekend at the beautiful Durban Botanic Gardens, bringing together donor families, transplant recipients and healthcare professionals to honour the lives changed through organ and tissue donation.
It was a special day of remembrance, hope and celebration - a recognition that behind every transplant is a story, a family and an extraordinary gift.
Among those attending was five-year-old Ziyaan Singh, who received a kidney transplant from his father, Sashil. Ziyaan is pictured with his mother, Vashika. Pic 1๐ธ
Linda Martin, ODF representative, is pictured alongside an inspiring young lady whose mother is a healthcare professional in cardiac theatre. Pic 2๐ธ
A heartfelt thank you to Hero777 and the Durban Transplant Co-ordinators for hosting this meaningful tribute, and to everyone who continues to honour the legacy of donors and support the life-saving message of organ and tissue donation.
The stories shared that day show how profoundly organ and tissue donation can change lives - bringing hope to families and giving recipients the opportunity to live, grow, and thrive.
