Young entrepreneurs from the STEP Programme implemented by Community Media Trust (CMT) took centre stage at our Market Day at the Katlehong Resource Centre in Ekurhuleni last week.

Big ups to our STEP entrepreneurs. They showcased their businesses, strengthened their networking and customer care skills, connected with potential customers and, best of all, made a profit!

A big thank you to our supporting stakeholders: Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA), Queens of Hope, Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) , Katlehong Resource Centre,Radah Skills Academy, Big Spring Life, Department of Labour, Orange Beauty School, SA Young Vision, FNB and Absa.

The choices we make every day can have a lasting impact on our health and wellbeing. But making informed choices starts with having the right information.

Our CMT production team was back on set, bringing another important story to life through the power of film and storytelling.

Here's a little behind-the-scenes look at what we've been working on!

Stay tuned. More to come!

The campaign is gaining incredible momentum!

More than 850,000 people have joined the movement, with 105 organisations across 38 countries standing together to challenge Big Soda sponsorship in sport.

Community Media Trust (CMT) is proud to have contributed to this global campaign through multilingual video production, helping amplify the message across communities worldwide.

Sport should promote healthier futures, not unhealthy products.

"My six-month journey at Community Media Trust (CMT) has been an experience I will always be grateful for. When I first joined, I was nervous about stepping into a new environment, but the team made me feel welcome and supported from the very beginning.

Throughout my internship, I was exposed to different aspects of communications and media production, from content planning and social media to campaign development and working behind the scenes on set. I had the opportunity to see how ideas develop from the initial planning stages to the final product, while gaining valuable insight into the professional working environment.

More than the skills I have gained, I will always appreciate the people who made this journey special. CMT became more than just a workplace; it felt like family.

Thank you, CMT, for the opportunity, the lessons and the memories. I will carry this experience with me as I take the next step in my journey"

After an incredible 14 and a half years with Community Media Trust, we say a very fond farewell to our Finance Officer, Rechelle. 🧡

Rechelle joined CMT as a bookkeeper and, through years of dedication and hard work, grew into the role of Finance Officer. Along the way, she became such an important part of the CMT family, bringing humour, warmth and light heartedness to the office while always approaching her work with care, professionalism and commitment.

Thank you, Rechelle, for everything you have given to CMT over the years. Your contribution, personality and presence will be deeply missed, and we wish you nothing but the very best for your next chapter.

A business idea is just the beginning. What you do with it is what counts.

Community Media Trust (CMT) is proud to celebrate the young people from Hercules, Tshwane, who completed the STEP Entrepreneurship Programme, hosted at MYDO.

Throughout the programme, our young entrepreneurs put in the work, building their entrepreneurial knowledge, strengthening their business skills and turning their ideas into something they can take forward.

As they receive their certificates of completion, we want to remind them:
