If you are able, join The GLO Project this Saturday for a cleanup - 09:00 - 12:00.

Local friends, some dear friends and neighbors have organized a cleanup day this Saturday to begin the process of removing some of the smoke damage from the fire.
As heartbreaking as this has been, it has also been incredible to watch our community, near and far, come together and support us. We are so incredibly thankful. ❤️

A scout from 1st Fish Hoek Sea Scout Group, Victoria Childs, selected the Farmhouse to do 10 hours of community service in aid of her 1st Class Badge.

She chose to do two things. Last Saturday, they spent the morning chopping, prepping and freezing ingredients for a soup, and in the afternoon they trimmed the grass, weeded the walkways and neatened up the garden.

The soup is being made tomorrow and will be served by the 1st Fish Hoek Meercats - aged 5-7 - at the Farmhouse between 16h00 and 17h00. We have invited the residents of South Peninsula Senior Support to come for a free cup of soup.

Well done to Victoria and her team; we wish you the best in your Scouting journey. Thank you for all the effort and excitement that you brought to this project!

Dear Farmhouse Supporters.

Now in its fifth year, the Welcome Glen Potjie Competition holds a special place in our communal hearts. The first two Competitions raised funds for the neighbourhood watch and community security cameras. Then came the Farmhouse project, which was funded by the two Competitions that followed. It is fitting that the 2026 edition comes with the renovation of the rest of the buildings being imminent.

The Farmhouse is the flagship project of the Welcome Glen Community Voluntary Association. Over the past year, the organisation has also hosted awareness talks on fire safety, security, and cheese making and brought the community together through events. The Farmhouse has also been a refuge for those who had to evacuate during the fire above Welcome Glen.

The preparations and planning for the Competition have begun! A big thank you to 1st Fish Hoek Scouts, who will be assisting with setup and breakdown. There are currently talks underway to start up a Scout Group in Welcome Glen, expect an update on that soon. Thank you to Mach 1 Security for being the title sponsor. Manu Choudree, the late founder of Mach 1, was one of the founding judges of the competition. It is wonderful to see his son competing this year.

In 2025 the Tintswalo Boulders Chefs took first place; in second place were BraaiTac; and Property.CoZa took third place.
