At our recent Youth Let’s Connect workshop, our Youth Play Ambassadors (YPAs) shared in a day of growing their own leadership skills through active play, deep conversations and creative reflection.

Leadership may not always be a title but rather a daily practice…
Sometimes it begins with listening.
Sometimes it begins with caring.
Sometimes it begins with choosing to encourage someone who needs it most.

Our newest team member, Youth Play Ambassador Community Coordinator, Yamkela shared this encouragement after a successful wrapup of Term 1 & 2 and ahead of the programmes planned for Terms 3 & 4.

This week, we're getting to know the incredible women behind Sisanda FunDaytion. One of our Youth Play Ambassadors shared how sometimes doubting herself leaves her feeling to be not enough.

This weekend our Youth Let's Connect workshop will be a space for many more of our young women and their male counterparts to build confidence and connections with others.

💙 Resilient Women Inspiring the Next Generation

This Women’s Month, we’re celebrating the incredible women who show up every day to support others and create change — community workers, volunteers, facilitators, leaders, mentors, fundraisers and supporters — we see you, we value you, and we celebrate you.

Behind every programme, every connection, every child who feels seen, and every family supported, are women leading with courage, compassion and resilience.

Because resilience isn’t about never struggling. It’s about continuing to show up, support one another and create brighter futures together. 💙

Throughout August, we’ll be sharing stories from women within our network about their journeys, the lessons they’ve learned, and their hopes for the next generation.

Yesterday, Sisanda FunDaytion had the privilege of attending the Community Transport Support Programme 2026, hosted by the HCI Foundation in partnership with Golden Arrow Bus Services under the inspiring theme, 'Working in the Margins'.

The event highlighted the incredible work being done by community organisations and partners to create access, opportunity and resilience where it is needed most. It was a day filled with meaningful conversations, shared learning and a renewed commitment to making a lasting difference.

A heartfelt thank you to the HCI Foundation for
bringing together organisations dedicated to creating positive change in community working on the margins.
It was also a special moment having our director, Nicky Seymour, present on how being a leader aware of one's own nervous system, responses and reactions while practicing simple breathing techniques, one is able help create safer working environments for ones teams.

We look forward to continuing to work together to strengthen our communities.

We celebrated Mandela Day together, creating smiles, joys and beautiful memories!

“It is in your hands to make of our world a better one for all." - Nelson Mandela

LLSA and staff volunteers, you brought a wonderous and amazing expereince to 67 of our children and youth from our Play@Home and Play Ambassador programmes.

CTSC scientists and the Impac.com coders inspired us all to see wonders in the world around us.

Final thanks to Santa Ana Spur for looking after the hungry explores and to Golden Arrow for transporting us safely from one destination to the other.

This Mandela Month, we're excited about our plans to take 67 children and youth to the Cape Town Science Centre. 💙

As Nelson Mandela said:
"Children of today are the leaders of tomorrow and education is a very important weapon to prepare children for their future roles as leaders of the community."

Every big discovery starts with one small question: "Why?" ✨
💭 Why does the moon come out at night?
💭 Why must I sleep?
💭 Why can fish only breathe underwater?
💭 Why do I get angry?

When we encourage children to ask questions, we nurture curiosity, build resilience, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
