Goodday Premier
Cc: MEC David Maynier
HOD: Mr Brent Walters
DDG: Mr Alan Meyer
I trust this email finds you well.
As we have seen the issue of Ms Kelly Manus played out in the public arena, the difference is that her story is that of thousands of teachers, but from the proof she have, she shouldn't have been one of them. Her only sin was that she reported what happened to her in the workplace.
Let me caution you to something that all of you clearly lost sight of, because yes, numerous teachers have reported to me, that they suddenly received your so called media policy, but let me tell you, while you think you live in a monarchy, and you are the kings and queens, the rest of the Western Cape is living in a democracy, we have rights, and we will exercise it to their full extend.
As the people governing this Province, claiming they don't tolerate sexual harrasment/abuse in the workplace, or anywhere else, you are doing quite alot to cover up what happened to this teacher, going as far as handing out policies. But let me tell you about your so called policy, before I take on any position, I am a woman, and if my rights and body are being violated, I have every right to speak out, clearly you don't take that into account, so your so called GBV campaigns means absolutely nothing, I suggest you divert that resources to appoint more teachers, that is what is needed, not PR exercises, when you clearly have no intention of protecting our women and young girls.
You must have seen how many former pupils came out, and testify to exactly what Ms Manus was saying about this alleged perpetrator, that speaks to his character, and he should have long been removed, because he is inappropriate and don't belong in the education system.
Last night I have sent a screenshot to Mr Meyer, from a Parent who's daughter is a learner at Symphony, who are currently being targeted because he was friends with Ms Manus, I have followed up on this from 2 sources, which confirmed it. But do you know why, they enjoy your protection. Very stupid to say the least, because at this point all eyes is on Symphony High.
In the media Mrs Hammond come with the weakest, most patronizing lies, further slandering this young teacher, while there is proof that she is lying. If you want to tell the story, you should start at the inappropriate touching of this man, to a young women, old enough to be his daughter.
You keep saying she withdrew the matter, it is a lie, in her naive, innocent character, she requested that it be sorted out internally, she never withdrew anything, if that was the case, why did she then go to the Circuit Manager, when she realized nothing is happening, and she don't receive any feedback?
With this matter you took a stance of not answering any questions to the public, but let me remind you, like any public servant in this country, you have a duty to report, and be held accountable, you had almost a year to "investigate", and when you eventually responded, you further victimized the victim. So I won't even give you 7 days, or 7 hours for your so called investigation, I will give these questions to the media, in order to hold you accountable for answers to the public.
So this is my questions:
1. When Ms Manus reported this matter to the Principal, did she report it immediately, and did she recuse herself, as the alleged perpetrator was her husband?
2. When Ms Manus (with little, to know knowledge of procedures), suggest that it be handled internally, did the Principal convey to her that she can't, because there is a bigger duty on her as the Principal of the school, to follow certain protocols, especially when it comes to these allegations?
3. Did the person who the allegations was leveled against, ever deny that he did it. If not, why was he not suspended immediately, because you have a bigger duty to protect the learners against people like that.
4. For how long have the school operated under the watchful eye of the WCED without an SGB?
5. Have the Principal ever been charged for her negligence?
6. Seeing that the school operates without a functional SGB, who governed the school, who made financial decisions, who decided which teachers should go, who signed on the bank account of the school, and any governance matters?
7. Is SACE informed about what happened to Ms Manus, and what actions have been taken by them against, because I know for a fact, that they won't tolerate teachers with sexual allegations leveled against them.
8. Why is this people still in their jobs, while you find 1000 ways to victimize the victim?
At this point you can continue to be quiet, or answer the public, one way or another, we will force you to be public servants, who have a duty to account to the public, and the community of Belhar, and each and every teacher, who are suffering victimization at the hands of your Principals.
While I have more questions to be answered, I will leave that questions to be answered for now.
The next badge of questions I will question how Mrs Visagie became the Principal, and Mr Visagie the HOD.
At this point in my opinion, Mrs Hammond is one of the weakest spinners, not even my 11 year old niece would believe her, so I want to caution you, all these questions that I have asked, there's receipts to it, so be careful before you lie to me, not even the public who I believe you think is gullible, is believing you.
I hope to hear from you very, very soon.
Yours in Education
