Hillsong Africa Foundation board member, Zanele Nxumalo is deeply committed to seeing communities across Africa thrive. In 2026, she is putting those convictions into action as she takes on the extraordinary challenge of running 3 iconic marathons — the Peninsula Marathon, the Two Oceans Marathon and the Cape Town Marathon — to raise vital funds for the work of the Hillsong Africa Foundation. Funds from this campaign will go towards the programs that HAF runs in high schools, prisons, and shelters that help to build lives, who will help build a nation. Together we will prove that building a nation starts with building ONE life at a time”

In the final part of the Impact Series at Westridge Secondary School in Mitchells Plain, we look ahead with a learner and hear about his future plans, made possible by his personal development and the smarter choices he has been empowered to make.
It’s one of the many success stories that have come from the personal development courses run by the Hillsong Africa Foundation.

Building lives through investing in young people will ultimately impact the future of South Africa. We invest in these lives through programs at high schools, correctional facilities and shelters, meeting people at their point of need and tackling their now - so that we can change their tomorrow.

Building a nation is no easy feat but together we can all do our part to see South Africa flourish.

To join hands with us - go to hillsongafrica.org/donate-now and for as little as R100 per month, you can be a part of this impact.

In part 2/3 of the Impact series, we dive a little deeper into the transformation story at Westridge Secondary School in the heart of Mitchells Plain. The learners have been on a journey with our Strength course and have started to open up about where they are at and the struggles they have faced.

Our Strength course helps men recognize their intrinsic value, pursue their purpose, face life with resilience and make decisions that will help their futures. It helps them with tools to become healthy and thriving men.

We would love for our Strength course and our other development programs to reach more schools, shelters and correctional facilities where it can equip and empower individuals to make decisions that will benefit their future and ultimately help build a nation.

You can help contribute towards building a nation - go to hillsongafrica.org/donate-now and for as little as R100 per month, you can be a part of the change!
