African Legend

African Legend We, at African Legend, are passionate about the educational development and growth of disadvantaged children in South Africa.

We provide extra classes, sports and skills development programs for Cape Town learners. EXTRA CLASSES

The focus is to decrease the failure rate of learners in schools through extensive exercises in extra classes. We strive to level the learning standards that enable learners to face social challenges as well as academic studies. For the last five years, African Legend has been offering extra cla

sses in Maths, Physics, Accounting, Business Studies and Biology at Vista High School in Bo-Kaap. The activities of African Legend begin officially in February with the beginning of the school term, and end with the Matric examination time in November of every year. The operation cycle is designed according to the schools' calendar. After the school term has started, African legend, pupils and schools use the first week to identify learners’ difficulties in order to customize extra class programs. EXPERIMENTS

We always aim to improve our Extra Class program and will offer practical, hands on Physics and Maths’ Experiments at the Central Library in Cape Town. (launch date will be confirmed)

EDUCATIONAL EXCURSIONS

We organise visits to science centres, museums and businesses in different industries to allow pupils to see the application of school subjects in real life. YOUTH FESTIVAL

In February 2009, African Legend became a member of the Muizenberg Cape Town Youth Festival committee under ARTAPART production. Learners from various schools and communities are invited on a year-on-year basis to attend the festival. SPORT PROGRAM

In March 2010, a training project was created in Delft for pupils under the age of 14 years. Soccer training equipment and T-shirts were kindly donated by Claremont Rotary Club and Nicholson Textiles. Other related skills programs may be introduced following the same school calendar, depending on students' needs and the availability of sponsorship, private donations as well as volunteer teachers. Despite the fact that our programs are designed for the whole of South Africa and Southern Africa, African Legend is specifically committed to socio-economic transformation of the City of Cape Town. Communities we cooperate with, thus far, comprise:
Bo-Kaap – Vista High School ( Extra classes Since 2009)
Muizenberg – Cape Town Youth Festival, ARTAPART Production (Since 2009)
Delft – Soccer and skills development programs (Since March 2010)
Du Noon – Suzakhe (Extra classes since 2010)
