Last week, the Division of Student Affairs hosted the Religious Leaders Stakeholders Engagement, bringing together student leaders, faith-based organisations, and key stakeholders for meaningful dialogue on student support and wellbeing.

The engagement created a platform to discuss challenges affecting students, including hunger, gender-based violence, and mental health, while exploring ways to strengthen collaboration across campuses.

The engagement concluded with a shared commitment to continued partnership and the establishment of a Religious Leaders Forum aimed at advancing student success and holistic development.

What an incredible way to conclude the DSA Africa month celebration!🌍🙂‍↕️

Day 2 was filled with culture, learning, and excitement as students and staff continued exploring the diverse exhibitions showcasing the rich history, traditions, languages, food, clothing, tourist attractions, and economic activities of different African countries.

The highlight of the day was the announcement of the top three African country exhibition stalls. Congratulations to all the exhibitors for the creativity, effort, and passion they put into representing their chosen countries and bringing African culture to life✨

Thank you to everyone who participated, exhibited, and joined in celebrating the beauty, diversity, and unity of Africa.

Together, we made this year’s Africa Month celebration a memorable one!❤️💛💚

The atmosphere came alive with good African music, fun indigenous games, giveaways, and a lot of dancing throughout the day🤭🔥

To top it all off, Students also enjoyed delicious fatcook and soup while taking in the vibrant atmosphere.

A little to last week’s residence discussions💬

The Bellville Peer Educators held discussions at Le Ruth Res, Freedom Square 2, and Heroes Res, engaging students on important topics such as Sexual & Reproductive Health, Mental Health, and Consent Awareness.

These sessions created open spaces for students to talk honestly, ask questions, and reflect on important aspects of student life and wellbeing. From understanding consent and boundaries to discussing mental health and healthy choices, students were actively involved and willing to engage.

Shout out to our Peer Educators for guiding these conversations in a calm and respectful way, helping create safe spaces for dialogue, and to all the students who made time to participate😇💙

CPUT Open Day 2026 was nothing short of amazing!

The SEDTU staff and Peer Educators had a great time engaging with prospective students through meaningful conversations, interactive games, prizes, and moments filled with laughter while also introducing them to the Unit’s services and student development opportunities available at CPUT.

The team also shared advice, answered questions, and guided learners on student life, leaving many of them feeling informed, inspired, and excited about their future.

SEDTU hopes to see many of the learners again as part of the CPUT family next year!😇
