Kensington Baptist Church Kensington Baptist Church
12th Avenue Kensington 7405
Cape Town
Western Cape
Republic of South Africa We as Baptist believe in :

1.

The DIRECT LORDSHIP OF CHRIST over every believer and over the local church. By this we understand that Christ exercises His authority over the believer and the local church directly, without delegating it to another.

2.The CHURCH as a whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit. THE LOCAL CHURCH, being a manifestation of the universal church, is a community of believers in a particular place where the word of God is preached and observed. It is a fully autonomous and remains so notwithstanding responsibilities it may accept by voluntary association.

3. BELIEVER'S BAPTISM as an act of obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ and a sign of personal repentance, faith and regeneration; it consist of immersion in water into the name of the Father, Son and Holy spirit.

4. The CONGREGATIONAL SPIRIT, namely that each member has the privilege and responsibility to use his/her gifts and abilities to participate fully in the life of the church. We recognize that God gifts his church with overseers (called pastors and elders) whose primary function is to lead in the spirit of servanthood, to equip and provide spiritual oversight, and deacons whose primary function is to facilitate the smooth functioning of the Church. This principle further recognizes that each member should psrticipate in the appointment of the church's leaders, and that constituted church meeting, subject to the direct Lordship of Christ and the authority of Scripture, is the highest court of authority for the local church.

5. The PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS, by which we understand that each Christian has DIRECT ACCESS TO GOD through Christ our High Priest, and shares with Him His work of reconciliation. This involves intercession, worship, faithful services and bearing witness to Jesus Christ, even to the end of the earth,

6. The principle of RELIGIOUS LIBERTY, namely that no individual should be coerced either by the state or by any secular, eccelesiastical or religious group in matters of faith. The right of private conscience is to be respected. For each believer this means the right to interpret the scriptures responsibly and to act in the light of his conscience.

7. The principle of SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE in that, in the providence of God, the two differ in their respective natures and functions. The Church is not to be identified with the state nor is it, in its faith or practice, to be directed or controlled by the state. The state is responsible for administering justice, ensuring an orderly community, and promoting the welfare of its citizens. The Church is responsible for preaching the gospel and for demonstrating and making known God's will and care for all mankind.

It is truly a privilege to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ—the power of God unto salvation! 🙌

This glorious Truth has the power to set captives free, break the chains of bo***ge, and bring deliverance to those who are lost and bound. Jesus came into this world, full of grace and truth, bringing hope, freedom, and salvation to all who believe in Him!

All glory, honour, and praise belong to You, Lord! Thank You for Your unfailing mercy, abundant grace, and the privilege of being a vessel through which Your Gospel is proclaimed. May Your Truth continue to transform lives and set the captives free, all for the glory of Your name!

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” Romans 1:16 (KJV) 🙏🔥

What a glorious service we had this morning! God is indeed faithful. The words of the song came to my heart: “See His glory, see His glory come down. Heaven reigns, praise His name! See His glory come down!” As Pastor Charlie’s mentioned his joy 🤩 , and we witnessed God showing us His glory! 🙌🏽🔥

We give thanks to God for every soul that responded to the altar call, and we thank Pastor Buntu for his obedience to God.

All the glory, honour, and praise belong to God alone! 🙏🏽🙌🏽

To God be all the glory for the great things He has done! ❤️

Good day, family and friends of Kensington Baptist Church.
We kindly ask for your support by participating in our raffle to help raise funds toward the seminary fees of our students at Cape Town Baptist Seminary.

These students are future pastors who are faithfully preparing themselves for ministry and are doing their best to settle their outstanding student accounts. Your participation in this raffle, will help ease the financial burden they are carrying and enable them to continue their studies without the added pressure of outstanding fees.

We sincerely appreciate your support, generosity, and prayers. Together, we can invest in the lives of these future ministers and help them prepare to serve God and His people.

Thank you for standing with us in this important cause.

Yours in Christ,
Kensington Baptist Church

Grounded 4 Life! 🙌🏽
What a wonderful and blessed service as our Student Pastor, Robin Kirby, shared the Word of God from Psalm 1:1–3, while our youth took over the service!

We thank God for a beautiful time of worship, fellowship, and growth, where our young people were actively involved in every aspect of the service from celebrating birthdays to ushering and serving.

A special thank you to our Youth Leadership Team for your dedication, love, and commitment to nurturing and building our young people in their faith. Thank you for investing in the next generation and helping them grow in Christ.

We are grateful for all that God is doing in and through our youth. May they continue to be “like trees planted by streams of water”, growing strong and bearing fruit in every season. 🌱🙏🏽

Grounded in God. Growing in Faith. Living for Christ. ❤️

What a blessing it was to have the seminary students from Cape Town Baptist with us this Sunday! 🙏
They came prepared to share testimonies of God’s calling to ministry, and student Pastor Nathan ministered the Word of God to us.

We are so grateful to God for those He has called to serve Him in ministry. May the Lord continue to guide, equip, and strengthen them as they faithfully follow His calling.

Please join us in praying for these men as they prepare for a lifetime of serving Christ and His Church. 🙏

⚽️ SUPPORT OUR STUDENT PASTORS — RAFFLE FUNDRAISER 🙏🏽

Dear Family and Friends,

We are excited to invite you to support our Student Pastors, Ps. Buntu Mgwelo and Robin Kirby, as they continue their theological training at Cape Town Baptist Seminary (CTBS).

Ps. Buntu Mgwelo is currently in his final year of studies, while Robin Kirby is beginning his first year. Both are preparing and equipping themselves for greater service to Christ and His Church.

As a church family, we would like to come alongside them in this journey. The cost of theological education can be a significant challenge, and this raffle is one of the ways we can help ease that burden while investing in future servants and leaders of the Gospel.

🎟️ Raffle: Win a Soccer T-Shirt of Your Choice!
💰 R100 per number
🔢 Choose any number from 1–200
📅 Draw: 29 November 2026

Every number purchased is more than simply an entry into a raffle—it is an investment in theological education, ministry preparation, and the future of Christ's Church.

We kindly ask you to consider supporting this initiative by:

Purchasing one or more raffle numbers.

Sharing the poster with your family, friends and colleagues.

Encouraging others to participate.

Most importantly, praying for Buntu and Robin as they prepare for ministry.

Your support, whether big or small, will make a meaningful difference.

“Support. Play. Win!” ⚽️🏆
Let us invest in those who are preparing to serve Christ and His people.

With gratitude,
Kensington Baptist Church
