GRADE 12 FINAL EXAM PRAYER EVENING

Last night, SakhisizweYDP had the privilege of hosting a very special Grade 12 Final Exam Prayer Evening as our Grade 12 students prepare for their final examinations.

It was an evening filled with prayer, worship, encouragement, reflection and gratitude as we came together to lift our young people up before God.

We were blessed to hear words of encouragement from their facilitator, Lihle, followed by a message from Lelo representing SakhisizweYDP. Our parents also had an opportunity to speak to the learners, share words of love and encouragement, and wish them all the best as they enter this important final chapter of their school journey.

Our students also took a moment to thank everyone who has supported them throughout their journey, especially SakhisizweYDP. Their words of appreciation reminded us of the importance of walking alongside young people throughout their development.

We were also blessed by Minister Tabata, who shared the Word of God from Philippians 4:6–7, reminding our Grade 12s not to be anxious, but to bring everything to God through prayer and thanksgiving, trusting Him to give them peace.

As a special gesture of support, each learner received a study pack, including stationery for their examinations, energy drinks, sweets and biscuits to encourage them and help them stay focused during this exam season.

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was recognising their journey with SakhisizweYDP.

Many of these young people first joined us in Grade 7, and today they stand before us as Grade 12 learners, ready to complete their high school journey. To honour their commitment and participation, we presented them with certificates recognising their participation and journey with SakhisizweYDP from Grade 7 until Grade 12.

From Grade 7 to Grade 12 — what a journey it has been.

We have watched you grow, learn, face challenges, build friendships, discover yourselves and become the young people you are today.

To our Grade 12s: we are proud of you. We believe in you. We are praying for you.
As you enter that examination room, remember Philippians 4:6–7: do not let anxiety take over. Pray, trust God, do your best and allow His peace to guide you.
May God give you wisdom, strength, peace and understanding throughout every examination.

You started this journey with us in Grade 7. Now it is time to finish strong!

A NIGHT TO Remember.

Last night, our SakhisizweYDP Grade 12 learners from Silikamva High School had the opportunity to attend their Matric Ball at the beautiful Suikerbossie Restaurant.

It was a special evening filled with joy, laughter, beautiful memories and a celebration of how far these young people have come.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated and contributed towards making this special day possible. Your generosity helped our learners create memories that they will carry with them long after matric.

To our Grade 12 learners, as you enter the final stretch of your school journey, we wish you strength, focus and success in your final examinations.

May this be the beginning of a prosperous future filled with opportunities, purpose and success. Believe in yourselves, keep pushing and remember that your future is in your hands.

MENTORS PERSONAL BRANDING WORKSHOP

Last week, our SakhisizweYDP mentors took part in an inspiring Personal Branding Workshop, facilitated by ORT SA OrtSACape

The session focused on helping our mentors understand the power of self-branding, personal identity, confidence and effective communication.
Our mentors explored: Understanding who you are and what you represent

Building a strong personal identity
Growing confidence and self-belief
Communicating with purpose and impact
Learning how to present yourself professionally
Understanding how your personal brand can influence the opportunities around you.

A strong personal brand starts with knowing who you are, what you stand for and how you show up in the world.

We are grateful to ORT SA for investing in the growth and development of our mentors.

After weeks of hard work, dedication and training, our staff members took on the Outsurance Gun Run this morning.

Representing Sakhisizwe Youth Development Programme, they showed that leadership is not only about what we teach — it is also about leading by example.

Through their participation, our staff are encouraging young people to make healthy choices, stay active and understand the importance of physical and mental well-being.

We are incredibly proud of our team for pushing themselves, staying committed and showing that with discipline, determination and teamwork, we can achieve great things.

Our SINOVUYO PARENTS & TEENS PROGRAMME IS BACK!

We are excited to share that our Sinovuyo Parents & Teens Programme is officially back.

This past Wednesday, we had our first session as we welcomed our students and parents back for another meaningful journey of learning, connection, communication and growth.

It was wonderful to be together again, and we are looking forward to the weeks ahead as we continue creating a safe and supportive space where parents and young people can learn from one another, strengthen their relationships and grow together.

At SakhisizweYDP, we believe that when we invest in families, we invest in the future.

We are excited to continue working alongside our students and parents and to see the positive impact that Sinovuyo will bring to our community.

HARD LUCK TO OUR SENIOR BOYS

Yesterday, our Senior Soccer Boys(Grade 10-12)took on Ubuntu Seniors in a competitive match at Hout Bay Sport Field.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t our day as we went down 3–1. But we are proud of our boys for their effort, commitment and fighting spirit on the field.

Hard luck, boys, This is just one game — we learn, we grow and we come back stronger.

A huge THANK YOU to all our supporters who came out to cheer us on and continue to believe in our team. Your support means so much to us.
