Great collaboration in action. Three suspects were successfully arrested following a robbery in Bothasig, thanks to quick reporting, strong inter-watch communication, and rapid response from local law enforcement and security partners. Teamwork keeps our neighborhoods safe.

🔵 LPR SUCCESS: Three suspects arrested after Bothasig robbery 🔵

On Saturday 10.10.26 afternoon, around 16:00, the Bothasig & Edgemead LPR Project received an alert that a vehicle linked to a previous remote jamming incident in Stellenbosch had entered Bothasig.

Our LPR responders from Edgemead NW, Bothasig Neighbourhood Watch, Bothasig Community in Blue Edgemead Zone 4 Watch, Precinct Response and Bothasig SAPS responded immediately. Within minutes, they found the vehicle parked at the De Grendel Centre.

Our members monitored the vehicle and its passengers. They saw one of the passengers run out of a cell phone shop, chased by an employee, and jump into the waiting vehicle. The vehicle sped off and exited Bothasig.

Bothasig SAPS gave chase and the vehicle was stopped on the N7. Three suspects were arrested and found with the stolen cell phone.

Thank you, Edgemead and Bothasig. To every volunteer and every resident who donates: this system works because of you. It helps us deter crime, catch offenders and keep our streets safer, so please keep supporting it and it will keep fighting for us!

Afternoon all, please see the attached alert following the break-in in Bothasig early this morning.
Just a reminder to keep an eye out while you're on patrol or monitoring cameras, particularly during the early morning hours.
If you spot anything suspicious or out of place, pop it onto our Ops group straight away so we can get some eyes into the area and escalate where necessary.
Let’s keep the visibility up.
