Children and young people can be viewed at once as powerful agents of positive community change and significant players in basic human development. There are in many ways essential and important. e adverse effects of lack of proper child and youth development and engagement initiatives are themselves causes of many child and youth related problems, thus creating a vicious circle of problems. As a result, problem-inflicted societies are less productive and are generally afflicted by, drug abuse, unemployable, Hiv/Aids and many other socially related problems. In the case of South Africa, the levels of vulnerable child development and engagement are below standards culminating in very low levels of participation. This vicious circle of problems leads to more and more problems, one of the manifestations of this phenomenon being access to decent child and youth development resources. Furthermore, the major consequences of child and youth related problems in South Africa have been the increase of Hiv/Aids infection, drug & alcohol abuse, lack of skills, unemployment stunted development to some groups of the community. The hardships of the average young person are greatly increased by the overwhelming figures of people in this state of disrepair. Figures of orphaned and other vulnerable children have increased at an alarming rate. Purpose of Love And Hope Development Camp Programme

The mission of the programme is to provide low infrastructure, financially self - supporting training facility for LAH Camp to support all child serving organisations, communities, families and children to increase their coping capacity to face the challenge of orphans or orphan hood & vulnerability itself. The task ahead of us is enormous. Over 14 Million Orphans and other vulnerable children are expected to live in South Africa by the year 2015 due to Poverty, poor health facilities, drug & alcohol abuse, unemployment and mostly HIV/AIDS pandemic. Though we will only be able to support an average of 1500 – 2000 orphans per year directly with life and coping skills, we believe that the impact of training Programmes to be offered in the near future for community based care givers will have considerable impact of better support for thousands of orphans/other vulnerable children and youth over the next 5 years.
