GRACE Animal Sanctuary - 170-288 NPO Rescue Rehab Rehome

Sterilizing, vaccinating, deworming and vetting thousands of animals in the WC
(1)

Rescue - Rehab - Rehome

Grace Animal Sanctuary feeds, vaccinated, sterilises, deworms and attends to the emergency treatment of animals all over the Western Cape but concentrates predominantly on the impoverished area of Wesbank, Delft. Since inception our goal has been to reduce starvation, illness and breeding in every area we are called to help. Our Sanctuary is based in Joostenbergvlakte on 1

9 000mΒ² under grass where we are blessed to house all rescues until returned to owner or adopted. Our rescues include dogs, cats, chickens, tortoises, horses, ponies and sheep. All puppies are homed in foster homes where we provide feed, bedding and vetting until adopted regardless of how long that may be. Grace is so named because we believe that we function by the Grace of God. As a registered NPO we rely solely on public donations and beneficence - none of the Grace team draw salaries, petrol or airtime preferring to work to support our rescues. We offer events, functions and auctions on social media to support our cause.

welcomes volunteers, visitors and school projects - our rescues love long walks and cooling off in the dam. If you would like to become more involved with the Grace family email [email protected] for details.

See you 🐾

Quick one for anyone who's seen "R50" and "R4 150" floating around and gone... wait, what? πŸ€”

There are actually two separate events happening at Protea Hotel Stellenbosch on 19–20 September and Pawsome Raw will be there for both days of the one you're probably after:

🟒 All-Natural Pet Health Expo
R50 per person, per day This is where you'll find us! Come say hi, meet the pack, ask us anything about raw feeding and shop the range in person. No lectures, just good conversations and great products.

🟑 African Pet Health Summit
R4 150 per person The full two-day conference next door, 12 lectures from international vets and pet health experts, live Q&A, the works. If you want to go deep on the science, this is the one.

Bottom line: if you just want to find us on the floor, the R50 Expo ticket is all you need.

Every cent of that R50 also goes to BRAG - Beagle Rehoming and Assessments with Grace, GRACE Animal Sanctuary - 170-288 NPO and Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue - South Africa, so it's a good cause either way. 🐾

See you on the 19th & 20th? 🐢🐱

We prefer posting the happy.

Rescue is a giant machine with many cogs and gears. We do us. You do you. Regardless of what it is you do - albeit simply sharing a post - YOU form an integral part of the whole. πŸ™πŸΌ.

Because not everyone can do us. While some wait for the most macabre - most don't want to see it - so we don't post it. But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We post the happy, the before and after, the appreciation and the follow up pupdates while our eyes and hearts bleed.

For there are horrors behind the scenes. Horrors that haunt even the most seasoned rescuers. We are only human after all.

Folk say they don't have the heart to visit . Or to walk away if they do. But our kids 🐾 are the lucky ones. Remember that. It's the ones we don't reach in time . . .

The decapitated puppy.
The poisoned puppy.

The dog whose head was half chewed off and left to suffer when his owners went to work.

The beautiful dog whose owner got a job 4 months ago and left her locked in the house where the smell of her decomposing body finally alerted neigbours.

These graphic images landed in my lap this week. And are burned into my brain, behind my eyes when I close them to try and sleep and flash before me while awake. Images which subsequently are in the hands of inspectors.

It was however joe public who discovered and reported these horrific crimes against sentient beings. Things that should never happen, never be seen let alone dealt with, by the folk who called them in.

The past 72 hrs have uncovered the most brutal events. The reason why we exist and shouldn't ever need to. To make a difference even if it's after the fact. Let us not forget them 🐾 the ones where we can do too little too late or worse, do nothing at all.

Thank you to those who bravely faced these outrages. To those who have spent hours pouring over video footage. From neighborhood watches, Cape of Good Hope SPCA for taking reports after hours, SAPS for their guidance and those of you who have messaged with info, assisted in door to door, following tips and clues.

And of course thank you to all of you who continue to believe in us.

WE DO US🐾. YOU DO YOU πŸ™πŸΌ
